If HKR had any ambition they would make sure it sold out, south stand £2 a go north £5 a go, sell the place out and hit the headlines

At least it'd look better than 10 doleys watching him train at a fiver a go

Can't charge £2. Couldn't stand the bitching from you black and whites about how unfair it is you lot getting charged full pops to stand in the south stand come derby day. Mind you if we look favourites to whoop you by that fixture it'll give you an excuse to boycott it again.

PAUL M wrote:That is simply not true, a big signing yes but mainly on past reputation but not what you are making him out to be. I like Mason and thought he did ok last season for the Cowboys but still only a patch on his former self. He'll do well for you but he is not what you have said in your post.

Then who is the most high profile player in Rugby League in your opinion then.

Names that immediately spring to mind are Lockyer, Thurston, Slater, Inglis. I could go on but my point is not that he won;t be a good signing as I think he will be, I said this before he signed for anyone. He will cause interest mainly due to the Fielden punch and because of some of things he says in the media - that's where the interest has come from in recent seasons rather than for what he does on the pitch.

I take your point in terms of playing ability.
It remains to be seen if he can reproduce the form of a few seasons ago on a consistant basis.
But i stand but the opinion he is the most high profile player in the game and yes a lot of that is down to his past and the Fielden punch.

Ill post this again seeing as you decided to ignore it.

Roverswall wrote:No he isn't the best player in the world but I would argue all day long that he is the 'most high profile player in the world' simply because I haven't seen anyone getting as many press inches as Willie has got for what ever reason in the past few years.
That makes him the most HIGH PROFILE player in the world.

Maybe you are still struggling with what HIGH PROFILE means.

If you only knew the POWER of the dark side.

Indeed but his playing ability is somewhat lost in the hype surrounding him and his character. He's represented either state or country on almost 40 occaisions. He's not done that by fluke so hopefully he brings his a game here

Depends on what you want to be known for I guess.

Mason played well last season as a prop coming off the bench and getting some good offloads away. I can't see Rovers playing him that way though, more likely to have him running wide.

I think the british game will suit him and we may see a return to the line busting runs he used to produce every game, especially in test matches against GB.
