i backed midnight chase ante post months ago but for the wrong race not the gold cup, william hill chase so that moneys down pan i reckon i like him too though
Just backed Local Hero for Triumph Hurdle @ 33/1 E/W.
Was keen of this but the owner didn't like the race (even though in ran in and won the Triumph trial) its got good form with Third Intention when beating it in the trial and was very well backed that day but is nearly 3 times it's price for this, probs due alot the its run last time on heavy ground.
Quote:"He is very, very well," said trainer Steve Gollings on Saturday. "He worked exceptionally well this morning, he was absolutely brilliant. It sounds a bit cliche-ish but this is not the type of horse who tears trees up at home but today he did sparkle.
"I am taking him to Market Rasen for a racecourse school and all being well he will run in the Triumph Hurdle. The owner is not wildly keen on the Triumph but I think he has made up his mind that if the horse is fit and well he will run."
Also done Big Bucks and Quevega double again Stanjames have enhanced double of 5/1

Nice bit of info, cheers. I got a BB, Quevega and Time for Rupert treble enhanced to 12/1 off Paddy Power last week.

He's right in a way because on paper the field is alot stronger but if the Binocular of last year turns up I still think he's the one everyone has to beat, the way it stormed up the hill with ease then turned it on AP even took a big pull on him after 2 out, it was what everyone expected 12 months earlier it was a one horse race and you were left thinking had Henderson done a number on us all, stick it round Cheltenham with decent pace and field its a different animal.
IMO this is how I think the race will pan out Overturn and/or Thousand Stars will set a decent pace from the off, coming to 2 out Binocular, Menorah and Hurricane Fly will be travelling best I think Menorah will get out paced on the turn for home an its going to be whoever pulls the gun first between Binocular and Hurricane Fly, I reckon Oscar Whisky will battle it out for 3rd with Peddlers Cross with both being good stayers, for me the outsiders which might place if it all clicks are Dunguib and Mille Chief they both have great speed but they need the jumping to be spot on too.

Dunguib was more workmanlike than impressive when winning a three runner race last month and will have to come on leaps and bounds from that run to feature in a Champion Hurdle of this magnitude.
If Willie Mullins is happy with HF and the horse is in good nick then (he has a serious engine when asked to 'go') Binocular will have something to think about. It would be great to see McCoy and Walsh fighting it down going for home. Menorah could definitely be the fly in the ointment though. Having said all of this, a lot of trainers (when asked) have said they see Peddlers Cross as the biggest danger.

Referees are like women, they make snap decisions and never reverse them.
