You do know that you only needed Phelps because Tansey proved himself be every thicker then Mr thick's thick brother.
You also do know that Tansey + Long and Horne being knackered again is also the reason for you needing a new HB and even then if Wakey hadn't almost gone belly up you wouldn't have gotten him anyway.
Now beaing in mind that big Willie was signed in September long before Tanseys last brain fart and long before Wakey went into admin and the administrators started their fire sale, You not signing Willie had NOTHING to do with Phelps and Obst.

I didn't say it did, i was responding to one of your posters. At the time Mason was made available to SL, he would have been a very expensive luxury for us, not forgetting the baggage he has, strengthening in other areas was more of a priority. If you do not believe that it is within the realms of possibility that he offered his services to FC than that's up to you.
