We are through to the next round and that has to be a bonus against a very competative Thatto Heath team.
I was dissapointed at the very few times we managed to make a pass to a player running onto the ball, all to often it was taken by a man standing still which gives the defenders the oppoertinity to wrap them up. Also how many times did we fail to use the final ball productively, it seemed far to often we were caught in possession on the last tackle.
To finish on a positive note, I know it is early doors, but I think the new signing Morrisey(?), should make a good partnership with China, they seemed to gell quite well straight from the off.

like i said thatto played with spirit and no little skill and great credit to them for that,as we did not play to our true potential and with key players missing it was understandable, and the penalty was awarded for foul and abusive language this happens in super league, and both championship 1& 2 accept defeat sportingly as we did against siddal last year when we were completly.

I completely accept the defeat, Docaster deserved the win. Foul and abusive language to the ref is rightly penalised at all levels, but I was just asking if anyone had seen a penalty before for what is essential a bit of banter between two hard players (this was confirmed by the referee and the match commissioner as the reason for the penalty after the game). I've no doubt that it's covered somewhere in the rule book regarding ungentalmanly conduct but rugby league would not be a spectacle if a penalty was given everytime the players swore at each other!

4th round draw is on 20th March

Perhaps your 17 had already been warned about his conduct but chose to ignore the referee's advice,
hence the penalty.

Just a thought.

And an ex Dons player scored a hat-trick against us.
We didn't seem to have anyone anywhere near as fast on our side ... which was and is a concern. Our wingers aren't greyhounds are they?
China was fast but has lost a yard and Wilson doesn't look that nippy. They are still fast and good near the line, but I haven't seen our wingers scooting down the wing like Woods did.

Mind you that all depends on how well the centres offload.

Still I prefer to think that Thatto were very good rather than Donny were poor. If you look at results involving teams we have played against recently, we don't have a bad record ... so we can't be as poor as our Thatto fan would have us believe.

Thank God I'm an atheist.

I thought Thatto Heath gave a very solid performance and ran us close, well done t all concerned. I do think that this probably the worst i have seen us play this year so far but am just happy to be through to the next round. We certainly lacked any sort of spark and never broke the line all day long. I do think we will go ok this year as we have a solid squad although the half back issues need to be looked at in the short term and a big prop wouldn't go a miss.
