While I think it is perfectly plausible that they might look at him an decide to wait, I'd be surprised if they've decided already. Vella is out for a couple of weeks now - although Lovegrove and/or Clinton might return.

While it should be solely a Rugby decision, if he can play you'd assume an early indication of that might add a few hundred to the gate for one of the less glamourous fixtures. A home debut would feel like more of an event too, IMO. I've lost sight of the 'soley a Rugby decision', haven't I?
I'm biased I guess, because I'm there next week and it'd be a happy coincidence.

I'm not sure.. Rugby League's version of David Beckham (not many words) arriving after such a delay to go un-noticed on his debut?
Clearly the games, which involve most of the teams in SL, that Mason is likely to 'square off' against have already been tossed about in the pre-season, so would you be that at all surprised that his debut will be televised now?

Think i'm not the only one who would rather see the action on the pitch then an American-ised, over-reacted pre-square off between Mason and Fielden for example... ah, but anything that can give RL more exposure surely will be seized upon, hence why Wigan V HKR will be televised too, as well as this week maybe?

Unless he's injured, then he should play. It's not as if he's going to play for the full 80 anyway.
The Crusaders aren't playing very well at present but i'm sure that our New Zealander, Maroon and the GB boys will want to get stuck into Mason. Just what the Crusaders need to spark them into action.

I dont think that we will see Mason this sunday. Assuming that Lovegrove and Clinton both return it would mean 3 of sundays forwards losing their places. With Vella missing, which other 2 would miss out? The hookers are safe. Newton and Galea are safe. Wheeldon and Watts should be safe on the slightly shakey basis that they have been less rubbish than some others. That leaves Netherton, Cockayne and Taylor. History tells us that if Netherton is fit then Justin picks him. So that would leave Cockayne and Taylor to drop out.
I wouldnt be happy with that at all.
Personally, if Mason says that he is ready for a game and Justin wants to risk him i would leave out Netherton and put Cockayne on the wing in place of Peter Fox. Thus leaving 3 slots for Clinton, Lovergrove and Mason.
Clinton, Fisher, Lovegrove, Newton, Galea, Watts. Hodgson, Taylor, Wheeldon, Mason.

Oh, come on. 6 months of build up, a week in the UK and he won't be on the bench for a "gimme" home fixture when you're getting people to pay to watch him train in the last session before "Willie and the rest of the team take on Crusaders"? I like you, R.B.A., but I do wonder whether you're playing with the full deck.  Besides, ticketing is going very well for this game I hear. Don't miss out.

How do you make it a "gimme"? Over the last few matches of last season and the first few of this we've only managed to beat you. Crusaders beat us last time out.
