It definitely served a purpose, it allowed posters to bicker about a load of garbage, and in doing so allowed other threads not to be derailed, shame there is clearly a hierarchy amongst the mods on here, GML is clearly the head boy, sadly what he says goes around here so no more bickering

Alarming image of the Mods' weekly meeting springs to mind.
Come on, MR, re-open the thread and move all these drivel posts to it.

My 'baby' has been killed... and so unjustly! Mind, it did cry a lot.

Start a thread specifically for cross-city bickering and derailment, which worked very well IMO, then lock it when dum-dum posts 2 pictures of a Hull KR player, one actually playing the game, one doing some charity work. We really need a banner to get Mild Rover's ground-breaking innovation (expecting nothing less from a scientist tbh) reinstated. I need 3 friends to hold the corners, and I'm counting you in. pmh will be along in in a bit with his box of craft materials to help make it.
You're not getting this reverse psychology lark, are you? 'I hated bicker thread, I felt like I'd been boxed in...', nevermind.
Right, back on topic...

Edit: Apparently that was too blunt an answer. The reasons are stated above however.
I'm not sure what the "reasons" you reference are though. Saying a thread set up to contain bickering "didn't work" is just a subjective opinion. I don't think it drifted into breaching the AUP, you know, like calling people "parasites", for example. Perhaps you can detail the aspects that broke the agreed terms of engagement with Mild Rover? I thought Bicker Thread was a good idea, I thought it might keep all the pointless posts in one place. It didn't though so it's probably for the best that it's closed. If your that bothered about it though, you can still post all your nonsense here.
