Looked back to his best IMO last night and led the team in cracking fashion....

isnt it nice to see some positivity on the forum again !!!

Il wait til he has a un injured run in the team before i join your love fest....he looked good last night yes but lets wait and see...if he plays all season like that then great...but its amazing what being out of contract at the end of this season can do to a player.

also the same can be said for those players coming back to fitness again after some unlucky times recently huh??
Like Richard Horne
not a love fest but a well deserved round of applause for a cracking stint by the fella

That suggests that a player would try a bit harder when trying to earn a new contract, which also suggests he doesnt always give evrything at other times.......I personally think that is completely unfair on a player that has always given Hull FC everything and never let us down!

Long/Horne for the halfs and Obst as an impact hooker.

Think Hull will bring the best out in Sam......he's always been a victim of "taking one for the team" and playing wherever a coach wants him to fill in. That's why Kear labelled him "a coaches dream." Sam delivers a lot off the field that people will never see......but teammates do. He's a tough bugger too and a fierce and loyal competitor. One thing for sure you will get 100% every week and if the coach lets him settle in a position I think you will see what a quality player he is.

your sam obst and I claim my £5

No not his Mum or relation......I'm 6 feet tall.....lol. But yes an Aussie and saw him a lot as a kid and in all grades over here. Think he was hard done by here, many people agree that a particular NRL Club really managed him poorly as he was very young(18-19?) when signed.

It's a positive sign, but I think it's a bit early to say he's back to his best, as for the nockers and doubters, I only recall people questioning that with the bad luck with injuries he has had, and the way he has put his body on the line since he was 16 if he could ever get back to the standard he was at week in and week out 4 years ago, as much as were all hoping after 2 games he still has a long way to go, I'm as optimistic as I have been for a long time regards Horne, and I'm all for positivity but that post at this early stage is embarrassing.

You think quotes like "he's finished" are just questioning his injury record?
