Season ticket rule isn't for first home game, just first game full stop! i.e. if you had us away you could use yours then. The offer IIRC only applies to the first round of the cup that your team competes in. Sometimes you get it great like Hull FC vs Leeds last season other times as we have had you can get an amateur side, though at least now at home.

I hope it does go ahead, I thought the Shay was a community stadium, therefore the community should be able to use it, not just for HX RLFC or Town. I will be a big day for Siddal, so everyone should get behind them and give your support.

Community stadium doesnt mean a free for all with the pitch. Having said that, I personally think its right that Siddal be allowed to play the game. Its a one off match, at most just once a year. They should be charged a proper rate for the use of the facilities though.

I'm lead to believe that since the article was published the game has now been reverted back to the shay.

Good to see common sense prevail, a shame the two clubs had to work so hard and fight every inch of the way for what should have been a no-brainer decision.

If more common sense prevails they'll try and get a quick turnaround to make sure a lot of Widnes speccies do likewise.
