Indeed. I can't remember which number it is, but the one featuring Raven and the table is hilarious.

Leeds Rhinos? 8 for you, Leeds Rhinos! You go, Leeds Rhinos.

And none for Castleford Tigers. Bye!

I love cheap wrestling like that. I used to go with m Granddad to the Parr Hall when I was a kid. I can still remember the sound and rattle of the ring as they did the moves.

That clip is just hillarious. Isn't that company the one that mixes wrestling with self-harm? They cut themselves and each other with tube lights and strimmers?

Yeah that's them (CZW) absolute insanity IMO. In comparison there's All-Star over here who do the theatrics and OTT characters etc (prob have done Parr Hall in the past actually I bet :) ) but without the body mutilation those idiots do, and I bet they draw at least the same crowds as CZW. One of the downsides to ECW was it created a load of rip-off companies, guys who are basically untalented but can tear each other apart for real, talk about gory. Give me All-Star's family entertainment in a theatre or hall then CZW's sick show in a carpark anyday! :)

It's companies like CZW & XPW that have ruined wrestling.

They do tend to be backyard wrestling with a bigger budget. It's one of the worst legacies of ECW that people think the best way to get famous in wrestling is to mutilate yourself

When you're a Bradford fan there's always a light at the end of the tunnel.

Unfortunately it's usually an oncoming train

Maybe we shouldn't look back at ECW with such fond memories, because, they really did kick off the death of pro wrestling. All the hardcore stuff hadn't really been seen in the USA before them, and had been a Japanese/Puerto Rico thing. There is a niche market for it, but, WWE started to go along the same lines, and for a while it was gimmick matches all the time. Now nobody believes in wrestling unless people are being set on fire, thrown through tables etc.

ECW did bring a lot of foreign talent to the UK market however, a lot of very good wrestlers were there, IE. Benoit, Malenko, Eddie, Rey, Tajiri, Tanaka, Lance Storm, Raven, Jerry Lynn.

The last 3 were so grossly underused by WWE, it should be considered a crime.

I think the likes of Benoit, Malenko, Guerrero, Rey, Lance, Raven & Jerry Lynn all would have made it without ECW, they had that much ability. If they'd have showcased more wrestling and less violence maybe they'd be in business today.

Agree mate. Anyone who wants to learn about the real art of pro wrestling should watch shoot interviews with the likes of Bobby Heenan, Honky Tonk Man, Raven, and Jim Cornette. For example Raven talks about how he showed a super-stiff Japanese match to his friend, who understandably wasn't impressed because (as he said) - where's the art form in hitting people for real? Any two of us fans on here could have a 60 minute fight in a park and legitimately beat the $h1t out of each other with iron bars, chairs etc, but tell us to have a 60 minute Iron Man match in a ring in a 10,000 seat arena without any weapons and we'd be screwed.
Must admit I was a fan of the WWF/E Hardcore division and the legendary Hardy Boyz / E&C / Dudleys series of stunt-filled matches, but ATEOTD it was only going to last so long - you can't keep doing that to your body every night before you soon have to slow things down.
Guess it's also why I've personally never got into UFC/MMA - watching guys hurt each other for real just makes me feel uncomfortable, whereas been able to suspend your disbelief in wrestling is a lot more entertaining IMO. :)
