i have it on good authority that when chev walker was at hull kr...webster was allowed to speak to other clubs over a possible transfer...wether that was due to salary cap etc i dont know.....but he was available if anyone could match his salary...
this could have been half way through the season not when they first signed walker....money was tight, players were getting paid late and you had to take the sky money to pay there salarysfor nov/dec i think it was.....

It really does make you laugh, why do B&W fans seem to think our whole squad is paid top dollar, every player we get only come to us because we pay over the odds. Yet when they sign someone they practically pay for the privalige of playing for FC.
Webster was allowed to talk to other clubs las year because he was in the last year of his contract, was out injured and looking a bit flimsy and he would have been silly not weigh up his options. He decided to stay with us and to be honest I would have thought if anyone better had come up he may have been released. JM obviously decided Jake would get his fitness back and worth another contract, no one better was available (for the same money) and he signed Hall as plan B incase Jake gets injured.

I mean as an outsider looking at our neighbours we could summise that they aren't as cash rich as they like everyone to believe, why else would a team cut the wage bill so drastically and yet have so many holes in their squad that have been highlighted months ago yet not addressed. Just what I've heard mind...

Thanks, just don't shoot the messenger, the voices in my head (later reattributed to 'heard on good authority) were really plausible when I made that bit up. To be honest the more I typed it the better and more believable it became to the point I almost added a FACT to the end and thus made it truely undisputable..
