Was suppose to be playing in the workington game, so i gather they would of had the 18 for salford working together more during the week; hence why he didnt play?
so the panel took the same view as your excellent assessment.
Mind games? Pivots are:
Tansey - sacked (allegedly)
Horne - injured
Long (aged 36 or whatever)
Berrigan - released

You have:
Briscoe - international and part of the best back 3 in SL
Green - an utter magician with the ball with skills never before seen on an RL field (according to Hodgson)
Dobson - Dream Team
Fisher

It's hardly a fair fight, Roofs. Turner and Long looked so disorganised on Sunday they kept running into each other. Anyway it's not me saying only Houghton would get into Rovers team, it's Easty. :NAUGHTY:

I will have a go at this lark:

Rovers are on a hiding to nothing in Cardiff. Evidence:

1) Rovers finished a lowly 7th last season, whilst FC finished "nearly 4th" (c) James Rule
2) The bookies favour Hull over Rovers and they are rarely wrong:
http://www.skybet.com/betting/rugby-league/super-league/t272.html?&aff=689&SL_OS_Navlink4
3) We are playing against "Super Leagues most gifted young forward"
http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/fc/hullfc/HULL-FC-Westerman-dominant-force/article-3144126-detail/article.html
4) Danny Tickle has FC earmarked for silverwear in 2011
http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/fc/hullfc/HULL-FC-Major-trophies-Danny-Tickle/article-2951215-detail/article.html

It's only force of habit making me attend this year, when I know we are up aginst such overwhelming odds.

Mrs B v SirStan??

Could be fun

Motto of the week -

It is the way of the weak to secretly bleat to those in authority rather than fight their own battles.

I'm sure we could manage to take it even deeper into the Mariana Trench with a little more effort.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

No thanks. I'm a mere amateur when it comes to this type of thing. She's the kind of fact-based troll I would aspire to be if I could find the time and if I could be arsed!

OK then. Iā€™d have a go at the pigeons having a crapfest in the East Stand if I were you though. Poor H&S compliance there. Larks are pretty and, like the Queen, would never crap in public.

Not a great start. The Rulester has some redeeming qualities, and I love him dearly, almost too much, but ā€œnearly 4thā€ was not his finest hour. There was a point between us and we got mightily owned on our own muck, let down by Mr Tansey. Familiar pattern?. Ask MrPhilb about the 2 derbies FC won last season. I like MrPhilb, as he has the rarest of commodities on here, an ability to self-deprecate (thatā€™s not a rude thing, Rovers fans), and show a modicum of good humour, but he lost both big time last season and let himself down badly with his screeching about unfair refereeing decisions costing Rovers the 4 points in the regular rounds. My ears are still bleeding.

The bookies had FC as favourites last time out. See 1) above. And some bookmakers struggle with the basics, and are not really rugby league specialists, but do it as a favour to football fans with a foot in both camps:

Hmm...I have no idea about Joe Westerman. Iā€™m not even sure heā€™s a natural blonde. Word has it that if he can walk in a straight line he might be quite handy, but I was dismayed to see him trying some dummy runs on Sunday. Hopefully Agar will have knocked that out of him , got him to stand shallower and take the ball stood still come Cardiff.
If weā€™re talking forwards, I donā€™t think that one player can carry the rest as Westerman will have to. Rovers on the other hand have the King of Hull (I know he chose this name himself, which is a bit Cooke-esque in ego terms, but you have to earn the right to such knobicity (yes, pmh, my word) and I think this was achieved when he rang the HDM in tears about his nail polish), Ben Galea, who teases one and all by saving and showing his full range at the Magic weekend then forgetting who he is (heā€™s getting on a bit, bless him), and of course Mr M, the big W, the lovely rotund, Jimmy Hill-jawed, buy now-pay yesterday, punchy-drunky, 10 ft high cardboard-replica, highest profile player ever. What do Tongans wear? Kaftans. Enough said. FCā€™s back row has the ginger Westy, Tickle and Fitz who was past his best 7 years ago according to Zod. I actually feel the match may be called off after my call to the South Wales Health and Safety Executive.

Youā€™ll have to do better than that:
I see your Tickle and rasie you a King:
HULL KR's Clint Newton admits he would class the forthcoming season a failure if his side didn't reach a major final.ā€
And of course 'Major final is our target' ā€“ Wheeldon sets sights on silverware

A bit disappointed that Vella, who said ā€œI donā€™t think Wigan will win the Grand Final. I think we will.ā€ in last yearā€™s play-offs, and the similarly chipper Scott Murrell, who certainly has more than his fair share of HDM back page action are a bit reticent thus far, but thereā€™s time yet.

SirStan wrote:It's only force of habit making me attend this year, when I know we are up aginst such overwhelming odds.

Just silly talk. Youā€™ll have a lovely time with pmh, Gordon Gekko and whoever is doing the DVD commentary for only their own freee self-publicity and a season pass these days. Donā€™t travel together though, that is the protocol for messageboard royalty.
