Sorry but I find that hard to believe. You sound like the saints fans who try to say that wire is a bigger game than wigan.
Its drilled into you as a Wigan fan from day one that beating saints is everything. Ask madge and any other coach/player what fans tell them. Beat saints and we're happy.
I personally would have swapped EVERY win over leeds under Nobby for one win over saints. NOTHING is bigger

To be fair AC, i personally get a slightly bigger buzz beating the small teams of Warrington and Huddersfield... dont get me wrong, the feeling after gubbing Stains is immense but gimme a win over those two especially Wire!! Hudds games are just a personal gripe of mine. Remember im not from Wigan and have only 7 years of watching Wigan so go easy! My Emma as you know is a Wigan lassie and her views on Stains are very different to mine, the mention of their name makes her swallow angrily! (ahem)
A purple patch inspired on his home ground by man of the match WIGAN CAPTAIN Sean O’Loughlin produced three tries in an eight-minute spell just before half-time, and the GB Lions added two more after the break to maintain Smith’s 100 per cent record as Great Britain coach.
Sat 27th April 2002 St Helens 12 Wigan 21 Edinburgh - Sat 4th May 2002 Celtic 2 Rangers 3 Glasgow (Carlsberg dont do weeks, but if they did.....)

If Rangers n Caley were the top two teams in Scotland, you'd still get a bigger pleasure beating Celtic. Same applies.

Absolutely true!!! ive had the St Helens thing naturally drilled into me from day 1, infact that day 1 was just before the infamous cup game at knowsley rd and they've always been a team i disliked when i watched the odd game on telly in the 90's but my experiences have dictated that i have a stronger dislike/will to beat little Wire.. lets say Stains and little Wire are the Aberdeen and Ce***c of rl

i want to win EVERY game. ok...saints is a derby game....but its not life or death.........so why give saints the pleasure of bigging them up?............years ago....yes. now its just another 2 points. it lost its gloss when we overkilled it..........before that it lost the shine when we went to summer rugby and lost boxing day and good friday as the 2 regular games. now we have good friday and what?......anonymous wekend, and an artificial fixture to draw the crowds at MM weekend

The GF meant the world to me. I live in St Helens and have took stick for 10 years, the 75-0 being my lowest point. But I would take a GF win every day of the week for 2 75-0 losses a season.
