Notice of Annual General Meeting and Board Elections

The 2011 Annual General Meeting of Forever Reds will take place in the Chandos Sports and Social Club on Gandos Grove, M5 5LJ, just 2 minutes from the Willows.
The Agenda is as follows:
- Board Affirmative Ballot (see below)
- Trust activity update
- Resolution to receive the verified accounts for 2009-2010
- Resolution to disapply requirement for full audit (see below)
- Financial update

Please bring your 2011 membership card on the night; you will need it to vote on the above resolution. If you have not already renewed for this year, you can renew on the night or by the usual means in advance of the AGM. Only paid up members will be able to vote.

Resolution to disapply the requirement for full Audit for the 2011-2012 financial year.
In order to save Forever Reds money on audit fees, we can instead have an independent assessment of our accounts carried out. Under the relevant legislation, this must by approved by the members each year before the financial year begins. The membership has voted in favour of this at the last four AGMs and we would encourage members to vote in favour once again. The resolution is as follows:

It is hereby resolved that subject to the provisions of section 4A of the 1968 Friendly and Industrial and Provident Societies Act, the Society shall not require an audit for the accounts covering the financial year beginning 1st December 2011 when they are presented to the AGM held in 2013.


Board Affirmative Ballot
After asking for nominations for people to join or rejoin the Board, we have ended up with the same number of nominations as there are available places. This means that we cannot carry out a traditional first-past-the-post ballot to elect the board and we have to undertake an affirmative ballot at the AGM. Please see the enclosed ballot paper for details of how this works.

All members should receive ballot papers and voting instructions in the post.

ER, good spot. The reason was that I was pulling the text together an hour after breaking my wrist, in a rush, waiting for a lift to hospital.

When is the next meeting for forever reds, I would like to join and attend.
I was told the numbers are down to about 18, if so do they need to recruit, perhaps change whatever format they do ?

The above brings me to a question that I've asked previously but not had a response to (not a criticism by the way, I realise most people just ignore me!)

A few of us were members 2, 3, maybe more years ago but haven't renewed. Do we now have to pay the full whack, or is it just the renewal price?

Well I would put it to the board, but generally if your membership has lapsed either through non-payment or other reasons, I would say that anybody who has not renewed annually would have to pay new membership as if a new member, currently £10, which is cheaper than 3 years at £5.

Perhaps the first match might be a good time to have a big push on Forever Reds membership.
