just a note to any clasical music lovers in the Fev ranks who may be travelling to Toulouse for the game on the 2nd april - there is a concert of Mahlers 9th Symphony on the 1st (friday evening at 2000) - the ONCT is a great orchestra if you are into that sort of thing - the concert hall is near the centre of the city http://www.onct.mairie-toulouse.fr/fr/concerts/1avr.php
bon voyage lads & lasses

No - I bloody do NOT! Not that my views on reality TV (strong as they are)) should have any bearing on anyone else enjoying it!! - touchy subject that at this end!! I actually will do a Boullabaisse, a decent Corbiere/Minervois etc in Toulouse and can enjoy debating different cultural aspects of Europe! However, I can't remember ever doing that in a Fev top and flat cap with the bretheren I usually go to away matches with!!! This time however, may be a little different!

oops, sorry mate - me & the missus aren't into it either but ma-in-law who lives with us is obsessed by it ! whatever turns you on I suppose ! Whatever you decide to do,have a great time in the La Ville Rose

yeh, can't beat a decent Cassoulet, especially with the local sausage etc - actually stopped off at Castelnaudary last year about 30 or so miles from Toulouse which is supposed to be the 'capital' of Cassoulet - went to a local restaurant for the 'real thing' - ended up paying about double you'd pay in Toulouse for half a plateful of not too bad grub - next time i'll stick to Toulouse ...

Now try Le Touquet for prices!! Jesus H Higginbottom!! 16 Euro a shot for a decent single malt in the westminster - 11.50 Euro for a pint and a half in the boozer!! 10.50 for 2 cups of bloody tea!! Dinner in the fish resto 148 euros!!! I nearly collapsed in the bowel related carnage when I got the bill!!! However, I came away from Le T having had a wonderful time and loved every minute of it!! France matey, some loathe it, me I just love it. and this year I'm going to get my first chance to see my rovers playing there. - In Toulouse!!! The irony of Fev meets Toulouse eh? - the resultant grin still hasn't faded!

it's a bit posh in in Le Touquet - you go inland a bit to Montreuil you pay normal french prices and decent grub in the town Centre - Le Touquet is where all the rich parisiens go for their weekend breaks = 'loadsamoney'
you need to see the REAL france - ie: get out of the big cities or posh bits and get into the countryside
yeh, still got the precious dvd of Fev getting beaten at home by TO on the televised match - brilliant match ,mind you,we got stuffed when you came down to TO !

Yes - we've hopefully got some discounted rates at the Novotel! It'll do - central and available! We've done France now for 30 years sometimes 3 times a year. Thisyear it's the Loire in May, Uzes in August (fete du vin) and back to Le Touquet in Dec. Know what you mean about Le T - we spent a good deal of time in Boulogne - proper prices there too - amazing market and decent snap! Toulouse you can get everything from a McCroissant to michelin stuff and there's enough of it about to keep the prices competitive. The booze remains pricey only if you want to go out on the tank for a session on the ale. A decent bottle of "appelation chateau plonk controlee" is still reasonably priced I believe. I just can't process me and all the other flat cappers in Toulouse!!

yeh,Novotel is ok and within easy reach of he ground
you must be retired,or be a teacher to have all this time off ?
never been to Uzés but have been to Avignon & Nimes which are well worth a visit
If you want some decent french wine try any of the Leader Price or Lidl shops - they have some decent stuff at very reasonable prices - probably telling your granny to suck eggs but in the restaurants ask for a 'pichet' or jug of wine,ie 'un demi de rouge' = half a litre of house wine in a jug etc - it works out a lot cheaper than buying a bottle at resto prices ! you won't tell the difference.
as I recall you lot had a great time at TO last year - all the lads including Daryl signed my programme and were great, all taking time to chat etc Is Iain Morrison fit yet ?
