Nothing else matters. The atmosphere after the game in Edinburgh and after the last dery at KR explains it all.
Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS

More than just two points. It's a permanent 'loss' to Wigan etched in the history books for eternity. Bragging rights till the next encounter. Defeat is not an option.

Abosolutely right.
Beating saints means everything. Losing is heart-break

Just remind us again how many key players did Saints have missing in last years grand final ?
When did you actually last beat a strong Saints or Warringtom team ? Don't include beating us last year at the HJ, we had a lead of around 14pts and were cruising then we lost both Briers and Monaghan, another example of Wigan capitalising on other teams misfortunes.

It means more than twice as much as any other game - Not only do you take the usual pride and joy from the victory, you take just as much pride and joy in their loss and suffering, and also sense relief that their loss and suffering is not yours.

Beating Saints means waking up the next day and then smiling instead of waking up and then getting that sick feeling in the pit of your stomach as you remember the result.
I am not biased; I'm not bothered who beats St. Helens.

Just get that warm glow inside.
Let's be honest, they've bossed it over the last decade, and barring the odd result they have well and truly had the upper hand. It has been a barometer of how far behind them we have been. Just get the feeling that it is hopefully our turn to sit in the driving seat for a while, and see how far ahead of them we are? Or am I getting carried away?
We are favourites for all competitions at the start of this season for the first time in a long time. Really hope we kick on and play to our potential so we can have the bragging rights back for a few years. We will see.
"The mid-to-late 1980s and early-to-mid-1990s is the most successful period for the club to date, however, even without this glorious trophy laden period, Wigan would still have won more trophies than any other professional British rugby league club due to their successes throughout the club's history."
