Chelsea don't strike me as a club with any particular direction at the moment. I personally think it's cheque book time for them. Out with Terry, Lampard and Drogba and in with newbies that can freshen things up. Stale as a week old loaf that club.
A good win tonight for the big club on Merseyside. I fancied them to win tonight and they didn't let me down, Seamus the Goalman scoring again.
It's easy to watch from the sofa and have a go at Mancini for being negative, but Arsenal were scything through them early on, he'd have been slated for leaving Yaya Toure in an advanced role while that was happening if Arsenal had gone on to get a couple of goals.
If they'd had Silva and Balotelli available I think the outlook might have been a little different.

Fair assessment that. Making the four is vital to their long term plans and it's been a good night for City.

You're 1-0 down in the 90th minute of a game you desperately need to win. Your star striker has gone down injured, a back injury not involving any oppo player. The ball is played out of play by the opposition. There are 4 minutes of injury time. You are going to give the ball back to the opposition, because that's the right thing to do.
But how do you give the ball back?
If you're a stupid Chelsea player, you kick the ball down the touchline, making the goalkeeper have to go 30 metre to retrieve the ball, 30m back to the area, and wait 10 seconds for your other striker to make him pick the ball up.
You just can't get more stupid than that. You do that if you're 1-0 in injury time. You don't do it when you're 1 down.
