Again this is not true. I am not allowed to enter the US with my British Passport and I have to leave the US on my US passport. I am not allowed to enter the UK on my US passport either because I no longer have indefinate leave to remain because I am now a UK Citizen to.

Ok so how long do u have to live back there before getting residency it's not long is it we have Turkish friends who have done this. At the end of the day how rovers and Mason have or are going to sort him out coming over it's all good in the supporters eyes, and really that's all that matters, I can see the next thread to start will be WELCOME BIG WILLIE

Ok I'm confused now hull White star if ur not allowed to enter uk on American passport how to people come here on holiday on a us passport If he has a australian passport and done his permit on his Australian status but gone to tonga to gain a passport there he is classed as duel nationality this I am guessing is how they have got round it

Don't know about Aus/Tonga , can only comment on my own duel nationalities. If I enter the UK on my US passport I am classed as an "alien" and would need the visa requirements or like I used to have, my idefinate leave to remain stamp. The yanks think I am out of their country and the Brits think I am here illegally, so I have to use my British passport to get back in, vice versa in the US.
In reality there is no such thing as being a duel nationality. I am a full US Citizen by birth and a full UK Citizen by parentage and I hold two full passports not one duel nationality passport, neither country recognises duel citizenship.
Either Tongan or Australian I'm assuming he will still need a permit to enter the UK on whichever passport he decides to present at immigration.

If he uses his Tongan passport to obtain his Visa he will need to do a mandatory English speaking test. If he uses his Australian passport he needs to re-apply to make them aware of his new Tongan nationality which may or may not require him to take the test. Either way, he needs a new Visa.
