Is that the definition of "legend"?
James Webster & Stanley Gene have just had their status revoked thanks to Eddie & his Definitions!
given what youve achieved in the past i didnt think you considered them legends. youve had far better players in their respective positions, and neither spent most of their career at cp,though them being well liked is understandable.same with newton.thought your legends would be of the calibre of say millward, lowe, sullivan etc if you base legendary status on playing ability ,achievments or a local lad coming good.

Personally I think it's an overused term. However, in terms of positive impact on the club during his time with us I would put James Webster up there with any of them.

certain players come to a club, and become legends, Sir Stanley Gene is one of those players, a living legend. Newtons maybe not in that position yet though but hes defo a fans favorite.

What a complete load of tripe, yes hes a fans favourite but by no means is he a rovers legend!!!
Gene and Webster are the only 2 of late imo.

Agreed.
Its not a straightforward question of ability or acheivement when attaining "legend" status IMO. Paul Fletcher is a legend primarily for excess loyalty in the dark days when most players of his undoubted quality would have gone elsewhere.

I think he should have gone, wasted his talent staying with us and would have got international recognition at a bigger club.
I was sad when Anthony Sullivan left, but pleased for him and his career.
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.
