Hull University runs a very good Social Work Degree course.
If you are a college leaver you will need the usual grades. If you are a mature student you will need GCSE in Maths & English (or equivalent).
Several friends have done the course and found it very interesting and rewarding, however be warned there are not a lot of job opportunities in Hull. Personally I did Social & Behavioural Studies Degree which is very similar, I really enjoyed it, very hairy fairy , but enjoyable all the same. Good luck and I hope you get sorted.

Just dug out Short Courses prospectus, a lot of the Computing courses have already run (from Sept-Nov mostly), but there's still eight running next year:
Learn More About Your PC Creating Documents Using Microsoft Word Doing More with Word 2007: Part 2 An Introduction to Creating Your Own Website Improve Your Movie Making and Video Production Skills Improve Your Digital Presentation Skills Improve Your Digital Animation Skills Improve Your Business Using Free Software
All but the last three are 10 week courses, held at the Uni campus on Cott Road (I think), and I'm pretty sure they're all £89 (unless meet exemption criteria).
Not done any PC courses but the three courses I've done have all been great, really supportive classes and feel get a lot out of them considering only 10 weeks each. You also get full access to the library + PC facilities there (and NUS card ). The website below is worth having nosey at:
