Make your mind up, is it hard for you to get to the shops because you are 'unwell' or because 'your car is stuck'? You are either off work on sick or lazy. If your car is stuck walk to work, or get a taxi, or a bus.
The fact is if your boss rang you and said 'Listen copper top, we have £500 in cash sat here for you if you can cover this shift' you would be there within the hour.
