They are providing funding for an extension to an existing stand, under which they'll will have their facilities.

I find it hard to believe that there aren't buildings already available that could perform a similar function for the NHS.
And yes, the cash on the yacht is an extravagance as well.
Anyway, I thought this sort of facility was earmarked for the proposed north stand development???

As ever Ranga, you're not even in the right forest.
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

That is a seperate development and would be with different partners, I believe.

Thats not really the debate here though. The debate is whether in the current economic climate it's sensible for public money to be used on this kind of investment. Fwiw i'm in favour of the funding going in partnership with sports teams to maximise usage of facilities. Just not sure this is the right time to be spending public money on this kind of thing. What will happen for example if the NHS facility doesnt get built for the local area? (putting rugby to one side for a minute)

iirc Hull FC are also 'working in partnership with the NHS'. This was to have been at the Boulevard but I think alternative plans are now in place. Perhaps a Hull FC fan could fill in the details? The figure I've seen bandied about for this was £700k, though that may have changed as the plans have evolved (or was probably not accurate in the first place, as I probably got it off here )

I'm not sure I understand (?). If it isn't built, the NHS wouldn't release the cash.
