Lets see if Mrs B can come back with stats/averages based on actual minutes on the field seeing as she want more specific :D

I'm well aware of that. You said England. Dowes has played for England. Same as Dowes has made more tackle busts both in absolute terms and per game than most of Rovers props. I know you don't like it, that's why you've tried to excuse Watts on the basis of position, despite the fact that there are actually backrowers like Manu who made over 90 last year, and you've challenged it on a "per game" basis and that didn't work either. Keep digging that hole though.

Blah Blah.
So tackle busts averages based on actual time spent on the field are what then.
Its a simple enough request :D
I mean come on, your delight when Clinton only played 2 short spells on his debut at Cas was all over this forum.
Just reply with the answer not your usual flannel.

You had a strop with the absolute numbers and demanded a per game number. I provided one which showed Dowes' supremacy. You tried to exclude Watts on the basis of position, which made you look more of an @rse because some backrowers can do 90+ a season. You're now asking for another set of measures which I don't even have the data to calculate. It's unlikely that Dowes would be trailing far behind this group of Rovers props as you imply, since he played 11 games off the bench, but I can see why you might want to try this as your other attempts to justify your mocking of Dowes tacklebusting have fallen sadly flat.

Face facts. He's actually not as cr@p as you'd like us to believe. It irks you that I've given you some stats to suggest he doesn't lag behind all Rovers props, even superstars Clinton and Watts, and has more tackle busts in absolute terms and per game than them, and Wheeldon, and Netherton. This is all the more astonishing when you consider his tackles + marker tackles were 741, compared to Clinton 541, Netherton 577, Watts 715 and Wheeldon 460. Big engine for Dowesy, then.

Fortunately, however, I do have the 2009 stats, which, amazingly, show the same picture (number of tackle busts and per game):

Dowes 25 1.14
Aizue 16 1.07
Vella 14 0.93
Netherton 12 0.60
Fozzard 11 0.55

In the context of tackles made (absolute and per game), it's quite extraordinary that he performs so well in both. Massive engine. Well done Dowesy
Dowes 781 35.5
Fozzard 574 28.7
Netherton 558 27.9
Vella 355 23.7
Aizue 216 14.4

The irony of you trying to hold someone to account given my sig is utterly delicious.

Did i :?:
Where did i demand anything  I said he had played more games then 3 of the 4 players you stated which was factually correct

Dowes is and out and out prop whose breif will be run directly into the opposition defence and smash through it if possible.
Watts as an example is one of the best off loading forwards in the SL now.
Wheeldon is the best prop at Rovers for finding his front and getting a quick play the ball something Dowes doesnt have in his game.
As for supremacy, you should have played him in the play off game then and your season might have been prolonged

Which without actual facts is just your opinion. Pay for the Opta stats, you like being sad and going onto websites and paying for information if you think it suits your needs as has been proved with clubs accounts :D

A simple question for you.
Dowes in your side, or Clinton, Vella, Lovegrove,Wheeldon or Watts.

Remind my of where you got your Rovers were going to release Murrell and sign Washbrook story from

And adjusting for the number of games, Dowes is the best.

All very interesting, and probably true, but you specifically slated Dowes in his ability to break tackles. I'd guess this was Fozzard's and Vella's brief in 2009 (see the stats for 2009 above), but Dowes delivered far better.

Which without actual facts is just your opinion. Pay for the Opta stats, you like being sad and going onto websites and paying for information if you think it suits your needs as has been proved with clubs accounts
No thanks, I've spent quite enough this weekend in Hull FC's rather excellent shop, full of stock and geared up for the key Christmas trading period.

Face Facts, if you hadnt missed on on targets he would be an ex Hull FC player by now.
Correct, I'd rather have Fielden or LMS, that's hardly startling, is it? Not like we were desperately disappointed like Morgan was to miss out on key target Radford.

A simple question for you.
Dowes in your side, or Clinton, Vella, Lovegrove,Wheeldon or Watts.
But Dowes is our 5th choice after O'Meley, Fitzgibbon, Moa, and Radford, so it comes down to Dowes v Wheeldon. Potayto, potahto TBH.

Remind my of where you got your Rovers were going to release Murrell and sign Washbrook story from
I've already said I'd been owned on that one. No shame in getting things wrong, you need to own up and wear the consequences. See my sig.

Someone has to defend Dowes against this entirely unprovoked mockery, particularly when there's absolutely no evidence to back it up. :NAUGHTY:

Still no minutes on the field comparison though but granted it would be a ball ache to find out but i had to put it to the test. :D

Fozzard was poor hence his departure and Vella was injury hit in 2009

Christmas colours are Red and White BTW

Morgan's response to Radford resigning for Hull was Que Sera Sera so not as disapointing as you hoped.

Wheeldon = Younger, more aggressive and his performances at the back end of last season were very good whilst the Dowes warmed his booty in the stands and as you state is 5th chioce at Hull now

You calling me a tightarse?

Fozzard was poor hence his departure and Vella was injury hit in 2009.
Dowes was still better than both plus Aizue and Netherton. He's really not too shabby in the tacklebusting department, is he? Consistently better than most of Rovers props.

Christmas colours are Red and White BTW
Good job your award-winning retail department is rammed with replica shirts and other seasonal offers then, to capitalise on this massive opportunity.

Morgan's response to Radford resigning for Hull was Que Sera Sera so not as disapointing as you hoped.
Changed his tune then - you said "Rovers very much wanted to sign Radford". It follows therefore that either this was untrue, or Morgan was putting on a brave face whilst inwardly weeping.

Wheeldon = Younger, more aggressive and his performances at the back end of last season were very good whilst the Dowes warmed his booty in the stands and as you state is 5th chioce at Hull now
You're a big Wheeldons fan, I get that. Surely it's a good thing for Hull that our rather good tacklebuster can't get a place in the 17?
