Awful night of darts really with Chisnall and perhaps Jones and O'Shea being the only real shining lights.
Still hopefully its just first night nerves and the standard will improve from here on in.
Well played Ted Hankey, superb. I like the way ITV try to pin it on Taylor's glasses, Hankey was inspired, big scores, big finishes and got the early breaks.
Jaws played a blinder against Barney too, not seen that Lloyd turn up for many years.

I think a few of the BDO lads have put in a fair showing so far, proving that some of them are good enough to mix it in the PDC. Perhaps they'd be better off moving across in the near future.

Good shout, they've really impressed. I've always been a Tony O'Shea fan, he's got the game, personality, walk on and connection with the crowd to be a big hit in the PDC, I've wanted him to come over for a while now and hopefully he'll win Lakeside in January and move over following. Dave Chisnell's showed how good he can be too.

Agree about O'Shea, a real shame he's never won anything. Hankey's potentially another, and I really think Waites should make the move after the world championships (think he could win it). Chisnall definitely has the ability, but I think he needs more consistency. If he moves now he may just get mullered and downhearted, staying in the BDO for a bit longer could be the best for him for now.

And at the end of the day he only won it because he had the throw in the final leg, Taylor averaged a mere 96 and was still only beaten by the throw

I think you'll find he was simply beaten by the better player, jesus, you should write and ask SKY for a job because your tinted specs view of Taylor is as bad as their view is, pathetic. Surprised you didn't blame Taylor's glasses for the defeat. Taylor may have averaged 96 but Hankey averaged 103.75, he hit more 180's and more 140's than Taylor and missed two darts for the match at when in front at 4-3. so taking all of that into account Taylor lost because of the throw? have a day off.

He lost because of the throw, it's as clear as day.
If Phil had won the bull before the match he'd have won the match. Simples

How many darts at a double did Taylor have against Hankey's throw? Not as many as Hankey had on Taylor's I don't think.
Hankey outplayed Taylor on the night, simple as that.
