WORKFORCE has been scratched from the Breeders' Cup Turf at Churchill Downs on Saturday evening after connections declared the turf course too firm.
The participation of the Investec Derby and Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner had been in doubt all week as trainer Sir Michael Stoute and racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe voiced concerns about the firmness of the turf course.

Really, really unlucky day I've had!
A shade in profit, but could and should have been far better, just had all the wrong horses in all the wrong bets winners at 25/1, 11/2, 7/2, 10/11 x2 and 4/7! Strongly fancied Pandorama aswell and that cost me being withdrawn.
Biggest one to cost me though was the Nicholls horse that looked to be hacking up when coming a cropper 3 out, had it in a fourfold with the other 3 odds on shots!
Only reason I've come on here really was to applaud Goldikova on a breathtaking performance, haven't done any bets (was gonna back Workforce) but am still really enjoying watching it. The way she put the field to the sword with a devastating burst of speed was very special indeed.
Bekhabad is tempting at the price with Workforce coming out but am gonna leave alone..Can't be having Dangerous Midge at all, ok a couple of recent good efforts but this horse was finishing down the field in Handicaps at the beginning of the season! I backed it on it's first run of the season when a beaten favourite some 15 lengths adrift of the winner in a class 2 handicap at York, how the fook can it be only 7/2 to win this only 5 runs later?
