Yep our crowds were awful when we were one of the poorest teams in SL getting murdered most weeks in 2007 weren't they. (double the likes of Salford and Quins actually ).

Even during dark days last season (e.g. conceding nearly 70 at Saints) the fans still turned up week in, week out.

Ok but why are you comparing yourselves to other teams when your chairman has said you need to break 10,000 every week for the club to sustain itself, you can't afford for your crowds to drop even lower even if they are still better than others.

Yes and that's because we make a profit, we're not spending money we can't afford.

No, but considering our capacity is only (IIRC) about 10,500, presumably he has lowered expectations since that statement (which was made a year or two ago wasn't it?). It would be totally unrealistic to expect a near-capacity crowd every home game (esp considering the shocking support that some away teams bring), so I doubt he'd be mad enough to sign Mason on an assumption that we'll be getting 10,000 every home game, surely not?

FTR I bet there'll only be six teams who average five figures next season (Hull, Leeds, Wigan, Saints, Wire, Bradford maybe). So if we are still around an 8000-9000 average I don't think it's bad.

Hull KR are still building and having to cope with the legacy of a long spell in the 2nd tier - youth structures, stadium development and the balance sheet are less than ideal, but all seem to be moving in the right direction - gradually.
