No, but considering our capacity is only (IIRC) about 10,500, presumably he has lowered expectations since that statement (which was made a year or two ago wasn't it?). It would be totally unrealistic to expect a near-capacity crowd every home game (esp considering the shocking support that some away teams bring), so I doubt he'd be mad enough to sign Mason on an assumption that we'll be getting 10,000 every home game, surely not?
FTR I bet there'll only be six teams who average five figures next season (Hull, Leeds, Wigan, Saints, Wire, Bradford maybe). So if we are still around an 8000-9000 average I don't think it's bad.
