Have to disagree mate - Hull's home shirts from 2006-2009 were hardly changed each year, yet each season they sold 10,000 replicas. People like tradition.

MrPhilb wrote:Yes, that must be it. Fancy comparing a club that within one month of signing a player had sold 1.2 million shirts with his name on the back in Madrid alone with a club that will be lucky to sell 7000 Shirts.
Rovers customers are the same people year on year, I'd hazard a guess that Real Madrid appeal to slightly more people than Hull Kingston Rovers and if one person doesn't buy a shirt that will be cancelled out by someone else somewhere around the world deciding to buy one.
A white shirt with a red band is nice to have every now and again but 2 of the last 3 have been based on that design
Nope, 2009 was (as we all know) pink with a red band.
Traditional over wacky designs for me everytime.
Oh, and we should kick Kooga into touch too, they suck.

Loads of fans do though - most home shirts of clubs like Liverpool are usually nearly the same everytime but they sell sh*tloads (same with my club Newcastle).
It can't be denied that last season's home shirt was poop, I know a few people who refused to buy it because of how bad it was.
Carlotti's home shirts (such as the 2006 and 2008 ones) were a 100 times better then both Kooga ones so far.

i for one didn't buy the home shirt last season cos i didn't like it. Loved the away one tho
its quite strange really because i loved last seasons home shirt, a lot of talk has seemed to revolved around tradition ie. white shirt with a red band, i have only been following rl since 2008 so maybe ive stepped into the ultra commercial era and missed the pre sponsorship, pre mass marketing days when clubs could stick to the same or nearly same design season on season, either that or im very naive and will believe the club if they tell me that a new strip is fantastic, which of course there going to do.
each time a shirt has come out, 3 so far in my time as a rl fan, ive said that its better than the previous years and i expect that, even if it has to grow on me first, ill be saying the same thing about next years too, regardless of which way round the colour scheme is

Out of interest, what caused you to become a fan?
