Well you've got to congratulate David Gill for more bull$hit to tempt Rooney to sign a new contract.

We've gone from "lack of ambition" to "this is the club for me".

Obviously, it's very likely that Rooney has been given an extra £50k per week, but I'm sure he must've been given the Glazer promise of money to spend on new players in January. Hopefully this is true, but as we all know with them tvats, this is about as likely as me winning the Lottery tomorrow.

I'd like to think that Rooney is naive in thinking that United fans will forgive him once he steps onto the field again, unfortunately with the majority of the match-going lot today, it's very likely he'll be right.

It'll be interesting to see how much longer his ankle will keep him out of action now the contract is signed.

So you and the other few thousand "hardcore" supporters who will continue to be angry at Rooney over this incident. What exactly are you wanting to achieve by holding on to your anger, apart from being part of your elite club?

I aint angry with him, I'm just pi$$ed off that he was all too quick to try and jump ship once things didn't go perfectly well on the field.

I've just lost all my respect for him, so have many others. Not that it matters to him, because he'll be getting £150k a week, whilst the majority of 60k will be cheering him every other week.

I'm annoyed at the way he's gone about his business this week, it's been down right disgusting. As a person, I now put him in the same bracket as Gerrard and Ferdinand, two others who were all too quick to try and sell their soul until they finally changed their mind.

When he wears the United shirt, I'll want Rooney to do the best he can to help the team, but I won't be cheering his name as I have before.

Of course, if his mini-outburst gets us some new players I'll be pleased.

Where would you look at strengthening in January? They are saying that SAF has £60m + what he makes in player sales.
For me the midfield is a major concern this season. Ok Valencia will be back next season so the right side will be pretty strong with Nani and Toni, we can't keep relying on Scholes holding the Centre of midfield together he's not going to be around forever. I've always held the beleif that Rooney would be more suited to the Scholes type role so that could be an option with Berba and Chico playing up front or if they could get in Sneijder or Schweinsteiger you'd obviously go with Rooney and Berba upfront, Fletcher playing the defensive mid role or Hargreaves when fit. We desperately need a replacement for Giggs on the left side and there is a certain left sided Welsh player who i'd love to see taking his place although we don't know how Bebe is going to turn out yet.

The defence is strong enough for me but if that was to be strengthened i'd maybe look at back up for Evra although we do have O'shea who does ok. I think we're ok at right back with Rafael improving all the time and cover from Brown and Fletcher can also cover. I really like the look of Smalling from what i've seen of him and i think he could have a big future and looks like the ideal replacement for Rio.

In the summer a keeper is a necessity as like schoes, giggs etc Van Der Sar can't carry on for much longer

Out
Carrick
Anderson
Gibson
Park
Scholes (retire)
Giggs (retire)
Neville (retire)
Van Der Sarr (retire)

In
Neuer
Sniejder or Schweinsteiger
Cleverley (back in Jan)
Bale (doubt he'd come though)

This would be my ideal lineup

Neuer/Ketchup

Rafael/Brown
Rio/Smalling
Vidic/Evans
Evra/O'shea

Valencia/Nani
Fletcher/Hargreaves
Schweinsteiger or Sniejder/ Rooney
Bale/Bebe

Berba/Macheda/Welbeck
Rooney/Chico/Diouf

With the likes of Cleverly, Eikrem, James, Morrison, Petrucci, Cory Evans, King, Pogba and Lingard all looking like they could have good futures

I think it's fair to say rooney isn't my favourite person at moment.

Crap at the world cup. Sh*t. Has a go at fans who payed thousands of their hard earned, to travel thousands of miles, to watch his ugly mug play sh*t and sulk.

Then he spits his dummy out because he's getting 100k a week and not 160k (or whatever). Well boo hoo.

Rooney for me is on the same level as a worm on the street and If i saw him in the road, my foot wouldn't be able to reach the brake in time and would instead spasm and press down on the accelerator.

He was already sorted for 5 years.

F*ck, he's sorted for life.

It's not like he was on minimum wage and struggling to put food on the table.

Greed. Pure greed.

Rooney and his agent have just raped your club. Both financially, but in other ways.

In the short term, things are fine and dandy. You keep your best players and glazers will be pressured to spend money (you can't afford) in the transfer market.

But the long term effects are bad IMO.

Both SAF and your club have taken a hit.

After rooney announced he wanted to leave you should have said ''close the door on your way out''.

Man united is the biggest club in the world and no player is bigger than the club, nor do you get second chances. - That's the message you should have been sending out. You'd take a short term hit from losing rooney.

Even before rooney went back on his decision he was offered a second chance. Weakness from sir alex.

Wayne rooney is now bigger than the club, he's running the show.
