We have Ferguson looking close to tears, the MiB threatening Blooney’s life and Blooney states that he doesn’t rate a lot of players at United.

Whether he stays or not, he has caused a lot of damage. For that reason, it has been very entertaining.

The demise of United will be televised.

I see what you've done there. It's as hilarious as your usual digs/gags about Nited.

Cibaman wrote:Its been suggested that it could be quite lively in Manchester tonight. Apparently Lech Poznan have sold their full allocation of tickets to fans based in Poland but are also expecting about 3,000 UK based Polish fans who have also bought tickets. Its not clear that City's arrangements for ensuring adequate segregation have been 100% (they've allocated a different part of the ground for the UK based Poles). Its claimed that there will be a bigger police presence for this game than the derby. Could be problematic.

Lively indeed. On the whole, they were very well behaved but in the 'real' away section (I'll come to that in a minute), whilst the atmosphere was superb in terms of the noise, it was more or less wall to wall nutter. My spec is only half a block from the away fans and when the second goal went in, the balaclavas were on, the scarves were over the faces and battle lines were drawn. If they'd have looked as menacing in 1939 we'd probably never have had a second world war :) In the end, it all calmed down but I wouldn't have fancied the walk back to town with them later.

Before the game, it's certainly the biggest police operation I have ever seen and every bouncer in town must have been on overtime. That said, I didn't see any bother but there were a few tales of the odd bit of fisticuffs here and there.

In the end there were probably about 2,500 from Poznan itself, who had the traditional away end, then the East Stand third tier was given to the Polish community in Britain. There were a good 4,000 of them who basically gave the feel that they were just on a nice family day out and were right at the opposite end of the scale to the true Poznan support. Then, judging by the reactions when they scored, there was probably a good 1,000 more littered around the ground, especially in the Family Stand.

All in all, I reckon they brought about 7,500, which is pretty darned impressive and the atmosphere from them is one that will live in the memory. If only English games could get the atmopshere you get in parts of Europe.

I think it's a slant on the people who somehow think that writing 'Citeh' instead of 'City' every time is somehow either amusing or insulting.

Indeed.

With all the MiB now issue death threats to players linked to City, can we assume that we are no longer 'lickle ciddy' (ooops, there's another one).

Death threats?! I think someone is taking the words of sensationalist journalists a little too seriously.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-ma ... r-11604098

Protesters gathered outside Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney's Cheshire home, following an announcement he wants to leave the club.

Police were called to the footballer's £4.5m mansion in Prestbury at 2030 BST on Wednesday, after reports up to 30 people were outside.

The group dispersed and no offences were committed, a spokesman said.

Probably one of the worst individual performances I have ever seen last night - SWP was awful last night. Very poor.

I remember after your first game (was it Spurs?) people were saying Silva will be too lightweight and the rest of the stereotypes, but it was clear as day you weren't playing to his strengths. He's very aware tactically, he can play both on the counter-attack or the possession game, he can't play long balls or classic flying wingplay, but he's probably at his best in the middle playing the counter-attacking game, if there is space for him to move into or carry the ball into, he will generally exploit it, whilst any form of space behind defenders will be exploited with his vision. I feel he's one of the best attacking midfielders in the world, if he scored more, I'd put him on a par with the likes of Iniesta and Kaka, but, for now, I feel he's still developing the complete game. Probably Citeh's best signing this summer, him or Balotelli anyway, IMO.

I loved the newspapers this morning. Such idiots.

I only hope that Rooney doesn't play for United again. He's made his position clear, and that's fine. What I'd ask Wayne Rooney is what usually happens to "marquee" signings at United? They either flop or take a while to bed in. He is in the minority of a top billed player who came in a delivered immdiatley. The other one I can think of is Rio. Other than that they usually struggle. Veron and Berbatov are two that spring to mind straight away. What United usually do is make superstars rather than buy the finished article. I admit that United pay over the odds for the raw talent but that's what works for us. Look at RVN, Ronaldo, Evra and Vidic. None were household names before they came over but developed in to (arguably) world class talents.

I'd agree with that, and what City need to do now is build the team around him. They don't need 11 world beater. They need to surround the world clas talent the have (Silva and Tevez IMHO) with good players. When you look at players just under that "elite" level, City have plenty. Johnson, Yaya, De Jong, Kompany, Balotelli etc. They'll have to pay more than other clubs to get that level of player, but does that matter? Does it f**k.

I was sat up in the Colin Bell and agree with what you say. I did notice a huge hole at one point in the away end as their nutters forced their way to the sides.

What would be funny (as a Nited fan) would be for "Blooney" to make a huge apology to Ferguson/Nited/the fans/the rest of the squad etc, say he would love to stay and sign a new long-term contract on the pitch ahead of the Spuds game next weekend. Then get himself fit just in time for the Derby and score a late, late winner before revealing some kind of "humerous" and/or insulting slogan on his t-shirt towards City/Citeh/lickle Siddy* (*delete as appropriate) and see the kind of reaction he would get.

PS I doubt massively that most, if not all, of the above will happen but it would be most entertaining. I also don't like it when any player displays any kind of slogan/message etc on their shirt when they score, that was meant purely tongue in cheek.
