If it makes any profit at all then, relative to the Council's investment, I imagine it is a real money-spinner in comparison to the KC.

Why is this on here? It's the off-season, so even if it is off-topic we're not struggling for space. Many forum members will pay council tax in Hull and will be genuinely concerned about the council failing to secure any sort of meaningful direct return from their investment. It really is quite poor.
As Rovers fans we've also been invited to provide an economic argument for public money for our proposed new North Stand and asked what benefit it offers Hull's hard-pressed council tax payers. Had we made those arguments this news would, if anything, have weakened them, but it may embolden us suggest that those among the beneficiaries of a scheme that yielded such meagre financial returns to the people of Hull are ill-placed to lecture us.

It's the devil's work. When you are faced with nonsense comments that Rovers are "progressing towards silverware", yet the league table shows they've gone down 3 places and they exited the cup 2 rounds earlier this season than last, you can understand that I've been dealt a difficult hand in my vocation. I like a challenge though. Like Anneka. I used to have a jumpsuit like hers, turquoise with silver zips, and a bubble perm. I looked ace.

I've said right from the start that the council should run the stadium and not the SMC. That way you'd reduce overheads of an intermediary and also not have to pay to rent office space in your own building.

They may also be open to actually using it for other things such as community rugby.

Beggers belief doesn't it?? :)

According to Cllr Minns these "labour tools" offered some degree of assistance to Rovers:

In December 1999 Hull KR was in administration. Hull City Council agreed to proceed with the acquisition of Hull KR’s property interest in the New Craven Park. It is a reasonable assumption that the agreement with the administrator was to enable Hull KR to trade and to facilitate other commercial and community uses.

The City Council granted a 250 year lease to the Gaingroup (now Kingston Community Developments Limited) in June 2000. A peppercorn annual rental is payable under those lease terms. The lease was also conditional upon KCD granting a sub lease to Hull KR in respect of the new Craven Park stadium.

Fascinating. All of which has got what to do with the right royal c0ck up the council have made when striking a deal with the SMC?

I'm surprised at you derailing threads. :)
