I have heard you can 25-1 on England getting beat in all the test games. After today it must be worth £1000 or so.
Mac will be sacked before he lands back in England.
As Peter Fox was the only contender to go down under I have watched the wingers performance today. Hall was ok at best but Brisco was not in the game at all.
Think he will be hammered if he plays. think 2 other wingers are in front of him after that.
Poor

Ok, it was a friendly for what it is worth, but god we looked hopeless. If we can't beat a side of Kiwis who wouldn't touch the actual kiwi squad, then god forbid what will happen next weekend.

Briscoe only had one opportunity to make a significant contribution and he made it successfully. Not awe-inspiring, but no reason at all to drop him. A case can be made for Goulding or Cudjoe ahead of Hall, going purely on form, IMO. Lack of balance in the halves and Roby's lack of impact when his pack aren't dominating were the concerns for me. New Zealand won big against Samoa, I see, so England need to improve massively to be in contention.

Widdop wasn't very impressive at FB either, 4th to Brisc, Wellens and Tomkins IMO, He kicked all 3 conversions but other people on the pitch could have done that, Benny Westwood for one.
Tomkins was good while in the game although I still hate how he plays for a penalty all the time, he must be very very week if he can't stand up because someone is laid on their back with a hand trapped behind his shoulder!
Agree about Brisc not being in the game but he made a fine steal when England were struggling.
Lets hope we get underestimated based on our last 2 games and go out and put a performance in

Im not so sure. People keep making comments like 'the result does not matter as its just a warm up'. I personally think this is a little to simplistic. We had the Maori's exactly where we wanted them after a HUGE slice of luck lets not forget and what did we do? We backed off and stopped following the 'plan' and we almost gave the game away on the back of it. Now lets not forget that the Maori side was far from brilliant when you look at it. Some will say 'But it was their final' and I would agree with that BUT can we not say the same about Samoa? The key diffrences between us and NZ is that they ruthlessly take their chances and dont remove their foot from you head for the full 80 and are just better in the key positions with the possible exception of the '6' shirt where as WE play in only spells. Anyone who isn't worried about the game next week are not looking at it constructively IMHO.

Hall was at fault for a couple of trys jumping out the line and patty slapping tackles, clearly not fast enough on the break either could not keep up with play. Briscoe had a steady game good try saver with the strip, suffered with Shenton as his Centre, he kept running away from him when he had the ball so no chance to show his pace on the wing. I would drop Hall and put Goulding in, tell Shenton to use his winger and not try to run up the middle, not that impressed with Widdop had a steady game but should have taken in the long kick from Chase or at leats booted it dead with the support they had pouring through. Maybe we should have had Thompkins at FB opens our attacking opertunities up more he seemed to get to close o the play from SH and it stifled his effectiveness, play Robbinson & Brown at 6&7.

If we play Robinson and Brown at 6+7 we will get murdered.

Although Ryan Hall didn't exactly shine, I'm looking at Ryan Atkins as at fault for a couple of tries down that left hand side. He left Hall on a few occassions with 3 players to cover because he over committed. That left side defence is one of my bigger concerns for the upcoming games. That along with the amount and ease of offload that NZM seemed to get, at one point the stat was something like 24 offloads to 8 in favour of them, the better teams to come will rip us to bits with that much second phase ball.
