The top and bottom of it is that if FC season passes in the gold plated uber mega best seats the world has ever known were £5 and Rovers was £300 i still know i would be heading to the KFC. You support who you support regardless. I'm sure its the same if rolls were reversed, you wouldn't uy a rovers pass at a 5er. Even being the accountant you are and all your usual calculations etc you still wouldn't buy a rovers pass so price, value for money etc is pretty irrelevant. its not gonna make people change clubs to save 15 quid over 2 seasons or whatever calculation you made

I'm not having that. GML implied my calculations were invalid. And I have a right of reply. If you can show me any miscalculations, I'll hold my hand up and admit I'm wrong, but since this hasn't happened we'll assume I'm right until proven otherwise.

I'm not denying people are moaning about the quality of rugby at FC. But you conveniently forget that not so long ago there were quite a few on here complaining Rovers style was predictable and one-dimensional, and the performance away vs Crusaders, for example, was simply glossed over. On the FC forum that would have been slated for 38 pages. Of course no one will be swayed between clubs by this price comparison. But it does illustrate that in terms of facilities provided like cover from the elements and seating, and from a home win ratio perspective, FC are favourably priced vs Rovers. Unless, as mentioned, someone can point out where the calculations are inaccurate.

An FC fan in most expensive reserved seats pays £225 + £230 = £455
The FC fan can still get this discounted price on 31st December (or even into first week in January if this year's extension is repeated)
You can't claim the Club Rovers frozen price unless you've paid the £65, can you? If you can point out where I've overstated what an adult Club Rovers member in the RM stand has paid over 2 years, why not share it?

In your spin you forgot to add the money off the shirts, the half price derby tickets, the discounted play off tickets, the points on the teamcard and the other benefits on offer. You also forgot to add of the thousands who chose to join the scheme who realised and continue to benefit from Club Rovers.

Everyone had the choice to join or not to join, a bit like the hull fans have the choice to pay by debit card i suppose. :D

Standing up to the forum bully.

The fact the KC is much bigger is the major determinant of the pricing policies, IMO. To sell season tickets there has to be bigger differential between season passes and pay on the day at the KC. The best bits of Craven Park are at a premium and pay on the day for the less attractive bits of the ground has to be more competively priced.

What is the gap between season ticket price match and single game prices for the 2 clubs? My assumption is it'll be much bigger for Hull FC, which just reflects supply and demand rather than moral superiority at either club. If and when Rovers build the shiny new North Stand i'd expect it to converge at least a bit.

You forgot -£10 for being an RSG member

There's also the offer for a JR mum and only had to pay £30 + £5 + £147 + £147 = £329 for a seat in the RM stand

The one dimensional play was an issue, the coach noticed it and rectified the situation, the crusaders result wasn't glossed over. It was taken in context, sonmething that as an FC fan may need to be explained to you.

We were in 7th no matter what, Crusaders needed the result for play off rugby. We had a play off game the week after that was what the team would be concentrating on. They did, we went on and won it so in the big picture the coach was right in his tactics. Nothing to moan about therfore no one moaned. No carpet brushing necessary.. HTH..

Mrs Barista wrote:Or the other way to look at it is that we're talking about 2010 and 2011 prices here. 2011 hasn't started yet so you can't say what level of entertainment or results that will bring. What we do know, however, is that FC won more home games last season than Rovers, which is really what you buy your pass for. Chuck in a far nicer stadium and an extra 13 weeks to get a discounted price and, well, I think we compare reasonably, particularly when you think on this basis a pass in the South Stand at the KC is cheaper than a pass in the Golf Stand at Craven Park.

Just another dull grey breeze block stadium!

Actually, credit where credits due. You keep those facilities in sparkling condition, Ms. bitch. Well done.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.
