Did he? I said Ben visited the victim in order for the two to discuss a resolution. I don't know who instigated this and didn't allude to that. Bit irrelevant, though, any meeting was illegal, regardless.
So, in lieu of a link, which other bits of the story has the world missed which goes someway to exonerating Ben? Perhaps Roofs can contribute?
No, I don't work in the local media. Do you?
You appear to read the Hull Daily S**t, enough said really.
I heard the victim had been assaulting random people in pubs that night, + what's already been said about you getting the story wrong.

Hmm. Correct me if I'm wrong, but here's how I've interpreted "the full story":
Ben goes to a pub in Normanton and gets drunk. Some bloke comes on to one of the girls in the pub and Ben and his mate lose it. They attack said bloke hitting him to the ground then proceed to kick 10 bells out of him. Leaving him prostrate on the ground they walk away, but Ben returns for a second pedifrenzied attack, even though his partner in crime tries to pull him back this time.
Ben is caught, and his horror he is charged with ABH. So he illegally visits the victim and is accused by the court of trying pervert the course of justice by trying to arrange a "financial "deal. He is later cleared of the perversion charge.
After being found guilty of the attack, however, Ben is locked up for 2 nights as the judge tries to decide on his sentence. He given a 12 month gaol sentence for the horrific attack which is suspended for 2 years and has to work for 240 hours unpaid in the community.
Hull Daily Mail provides video evidence, but warns viewers before seeing: "WARNING - This video contains scenes of graphic violence."
Rovers decide not to sack him and he remains a player to this day.
That's a pretty full story. But I'd be delighted to know of any further details we all seem to have missed.
He has been dealt with, what do you want have him re-tried, hang him and stick his head on a spike. Maybe afterwards you could slaughter his mam and dad as well, that'll teach him.
Lets face it, you wouldn't give a toss if he played for anyone else. If you had a player that played with such passion and had so much love for his club (and I don't mean the odd badge kissing arsole) you'd be cheering him as well.
What he did was wrong, but he has been through the judicial process and has been punished, lets face it your beef about Rovers not sacking him is a bit hollow, your club signed a lowlife cheat.

As well as a wife beater, Didn't they also keep a player on after he got done for assault themselves..........Oh hang on didn't that case also involve racial undertones as well, then of course the was the fact that Cooke wasn't even shown the door after how many times did he have a scrape with the law?. It isn't so much as a pot calling the kettle black its more like charcoal calling the kettle black.
Perhaps you could provide the stories behind certain players you seem to have "forgotten".
A certain current forward convicted of violence in Oz before your club signed him for example. An ex winger kept on despite a racial assault and a player signed a week after your club gave over pre match advert for domestic assault victims.
The list goes on but apparently only one players indiscretions seem to occupy your thoughts.

If this is a pantomime boo-hiss type of thread, it can stay. If it is going to be a morally out-raged mudslinging one, it can't. Please discuss discuss RL players in the context of RL. For example Danny Tickle wound me up a bit in the first derby this year - as a RL player I 'hated' him (over it now, but), but I didn't hate Danny Tickle the person. Let's leave that rubbish at the door please.

To be fair Mild Rover I think "hate" is used to describe a certain players type of play,or personality on the pitch. As I don`t know any player personaly I can not say I hate them. They are probably perfectly decent fellows off the pitch. (Except maybe a couple of exceptions.)

No RL fan should hate (in the proper sense of the word) any RL player unless they have been personally wronged by him.
