Both Yorkshire and Hampshire appear to be doing their best to gift their visitors the win they needed to stay up, not that there's anything suspicious going on there mind...

A bloke in my office went up this morning, said we were too impatient in our batting, and though the ball was doing a bit we should have done a bit better.
30-40 more runs could have made all the difference, but it's still been a very positive season.
Notts going for it on the bonus points, they've hit 400 and declared, now have 18 overs to take 3 wickets to do it - as long as Somerset don't knock the runs off, which is looking highly unlikely (42/3 after 10).

watching the yorkshire batting performance this morning was very disappointing, as the results come in and it looks like a win could have been a championship it gets worse - the runs were there for the taking this morning as Kent's 3 and 4 showed, there was no patience and poor shot selection from yorkshire
a worthy ovation for the side as they left the field though, only one defeat before today and that was after a decleration trying to force a result, last chance to see Rudolph play too
