All indications are that Scott Wheeldon has signed a 2yr extention which will be announced very soon.
Really chuffed about this cos I think he's raised his game of late demonstrated by a superb performance against Wigan. Hopefully the coaching team can help him get to this level of performance on a regular basis and we'll have some player on our hands.
I think we're starting to get some continuity in our playing squad now as we're at the point of supplimenting the squad with either quality experienced players on long-term deals (2/3yrs) and/or promoting from within with 5 academy players getting promoted to the first team squad this winter.
This is down to the superb long-term planning of our coach.

The future is bright - the future is red & white!
We are also in the rare position this off-season of being able to bring some more quality into the team without actually releasing any of our players when you take into account that Mills, Cooke and Walker are gone and they didnt figure for us anyway.

Think this is great for Rovers Scotty wants to stay at KR which is obviously the best thing for him and think Morgan now realising what a great prospect he is and is going to be, i always say if you play a player for a few games then that's when you can tell what potential they have Scotty used to give a lot of penalties away at one time, now he is maturing were seeing a different side to him, well done to KR once again for securing his signature, looking forward to next season already...

Yeah it goes to show what value for money we have in the squad when you consider Mills, Cooke and Walker must have been the best part of £250K out of our cap.
Mason, Green and Hall + the promotion of the academy players then we'll have a really healthy squad next season.

Not to mention Scott Taylor, Frankie Mariano and Sam Latus who have had tasters of Super League action this season and will be far better next season for the experience. In 2007 Kris Welham had a taste of action at the end of the season and then made a shirt his own from 2008 onwards. Nothing to say one of these players wont do the same.
