Furthermore, I think it's harder to be a goalkeeper in England than Spain, I think our league is much more 'challenging' for goalkeepers, which naturally makes me regard Reina's performances a lot higher.
Still, even then, if Barca could afford to lose one player that they wouldn't miss at all, it would obviously be Valdes, as he is just 'decent'.

Valdes was one of Barça's better players last year. Reina needs to be careful as Del Bosque is already keeping tabs on Gorka and De Gea. I don't think the fact that he's playing outside of the Spanish league is an advantage to Reina either.
Oh and if Barcelona could lose one player it would be Hleb.

United fans, why are Neville/Giggs not captain today?

TBH I was thinking "Great win for Yanited." 3-1 away at Everton with the granny shagger is a good result. I then go back to the BBC website that was open and they've drawn 3-3.

You know what I meant, I meant out of their first choice players.

It should be an advantage to Reina, as I feel he's the most complete of the Spanish goalkeepers. Regardless of his recent errors, I'd say he's tested more than any of the other Spanish goalkeepers, other than Almunia, obviously. By tested I mean more is asked of him with regards to things like crossing, challenges and the like. I don't think Casillas would be that great a 'keeper in England, largely because his style of goalkeeping (punching) is often 'found out' by the physical sides like Stoke. Reina's handling has come on leaps and bounds since he first came, whilst he's still got the natural instinct to punch, which makes him more suited to our league, IMO.

Valdes is just a decent player, I've always rated Diego Lopez as Spain's best third choice, although they do have some good young 'keepers coming through.

I thought we saw the best and worst of Everton. They had large spells of dominance in the game today. They had United under all sorts of pressure and got 17 attempts on goal in, more than their opponents once more today. More possession, more shots, more on target, more corners. But they conceeded two really, really soft goals and United could have scored 10. It took Everton 92 minutes to put a proper cross in despite being in the position to put balls in all game. When they came, the two that produced the goals were fantastic by Baines.

I thought Scholes was fantastic for United, but they can't have that midfield against the likes of Chelsea as they would get mullered.

The referee rightly got a roasting from Davey Moyes at the end. He was simply awful. Johnny Evans and Vidic fouled Cahill almost every time the ball went near him. They were allowed to charge into his back and very often with Evans who is an absolute donkey, he just ran into Cahill with his elbows into the back of his head. The one or two times Cahill had a dig back he was penalised for it. How he got through that game without losing his rag with someone is beyond me. Vidic's reaction when Cahill did return one of the elbows was hillarious, what an absolute fanny. And the end? How controversial was that? I'd love to see the ref explain that one. Board says 3 minutes and there are 2 goals, at least one corner in the injury time and he only adds 20 seconds? Bizarre that he called time when Everton had a 6 on 2 situation and I'm not surprised Moyes was a little bothered by it. Is the ref really suggesting they only wasted 20 seconds celebrating two goals and a waiting for a corner? Utterly bizarre.

I'm not saying Valdes is better than Reina or vice versa, but I just can't agree with your evaluation of Valdes as 'just a decent player'. It's a similar one to Carlos Puyol for me in that I use to think he was average at best but after seeing him week in, week out I firmly believe he's very good.

Rob, are you saying that Reina is better than Casillas?

He didn't want Taggart shouting at him if Everton got a winner. He'd much prefer Moyes.
