So what was your point about tax going up to 50% from next year? (that happened this year!!)
No police involvement as far as I can tell. We're stuck with him I fear.
Quote:Peponis, who had previously spent more than a decade on the NSWRL judiciary, said there was no legal obligation for the club to refer any positive drug test involving illegal social drugs to either the NRL or the police.
That's very good news for you.
BTW, not sure why you removed the word proven from my post. It is. Its even in that article. Or do you think $25k fines get handed around for nothing?

I honestly thought it was april 2011 for some reason, with the players and the squad we already have players aren't going to be signing on more than 150K for the simple reason they'll get buggered on the tax and end up earning less
Lets say Mason is on 180K he'll only clear half of it, He'll earn the same if he was payed £149,999 won't he?
As you Hull fans have told us, we are already paying 150 grand a season to at least 6 players was it so to comply with the salary cap it will be impossible for Mr Mason to earn the extortionate sums you intimate

No. For the 30k between 150 and 180 he'll be taxed 15k where he would be taxed 12k if it were the same value at the lower tax band. Dont let the 50% tax bracket kid you, people will still choose to come for the greater amount. (3k difference per year is nothing on that kind of money)

To be fair mate i work with people on 500k per year. They dont seem that bothered that they only pick 175k of the 350k taxed at 50% rather than rather than 210k. 35k difference for them is insignificant.

This season's about the here and now and knowledgeable fans won't be fooled by promises of big names round the corner. On that very point, interesting that there have only been about 2 posts on the game that Rovers actually played on Saturday. So maybe he was right. Knowledgeable fans won't be fooled/distracted but thick ones will. Bit disrespectful to his own, really.
