I would have personally have left out Harrington and picked Justin Rose, Harrington is living on past reputation/victories IMO whereas Justin Rose is in form and has won twice recently!

Casey must be gutted too but I have no sympathy for someone who chooses to play in the US instead of qualify by rights, at least Donald had the balls to come over and play and it payed of big time with his 2 wins!

Bingo. Agree with everything you've posted. I'll also add that it seemed a strange time to release the picks. How much a prat would Monty feel if one of the guys he has left out hit's a 62 today and goes top of the Fedex Cup rankings. Should have waited till the morning IMO.

Just seems odd. Casey is playing well again and yet has been left out. Rose is one of the form players in golf but we have left him out as well. Why can't players score points on the US tour? It's a better tour than the European

I've no sympathy for Rose or Casey after they chased the money instead of playing in Scotland this week.Even if they didn't make the team by right it would have shown how willing they were to try.Look at what Jimenez did,he missed his Nephews wedding to make sure he made the team.

Agree 100% with that and playing well in the summer in the States is a completely different kettle of fish to playing in October in Wales.
Add in the fact that Casey isn't particularly well liked by his peers too and it's not too much of a surprise.
I think he's planning on using Harrington as the "big name" and hoping that he'll rise to being the team's number 1. It's a gamble considering he hasn't won a Ryder Cup match since 2004 but it's one I think most people would take.

He's not won a Ryder Cup match since 2004 AND his form stinks. To leave in form players out like Rose and Casey for somebody so clearly out of form seems a bit daft to me.

Same. Have booked the full weekend off :PIMP:

I've asked before but can the mods rename this as a golf thread?

Easy way to get it renamed mate, start a new golf thread and they will have to merge them 8) :HIGHFIVE:
