Having just watched the recording, I've got to say, Woods was shocking today - on a number of occasions he didn't just get players names wrong, he actually named the opposite number from the other team! (once such case, Briers puts a kick to the corner and he described it as McGuire doing the kick !)
Appalling standard of commentary from our national broadcaster, the problem is of course, who would be available who could do the job any better?

Woah woah woah, let's not say things we can't take back! All is NOT forgiven, Ray French is the only man on the planet who's "commentating" style can fail so abjectly as to describe what's happening on the field, and in a lot of cases has honestly sent me to sleep meaning I had to watch a re-run after having prepared myself with multiple cups of strong coffee to get through it! It's even worse on radio merseyside, he goes off on to 10 minute rants about how things were in "his day", then you hear a crowd roar and the exclamation "oh and he's scored a try !" .... WHO'S SCORED A FECKING TRY RAY?!?!?!?!
Sian: Oh that's a very pretty plane, it's all pink and purply
Thecko: And it says Wizz on it

Don't forget to mention how he will tell you the junior club and the weight of the player and respective packs for each player he's talking about!
We need more comedy in our commentary I feel. Bring in Sid Waddell and we'll be onto a winner!
I still need to hear my commentary from last year's Champions Schools tournament to see if I have a career in the making or not!

Prat.
Claire Balding is the best Rugby League presenter in the UK by miles if you ask me. Eddie and Stevo should have a look at how proffessional she is.

Apparently Paul Burrows plays for Leeds ?
Didn't he have something to do with Princess Diana, Queen of Hearts ?
