Hi,
Me and a mate are heading to Wembley for the final but will be arriving in Central London (Euston station) at around half 9 on Saturday morning. Could anyone reccomend a few good pubs in the area? I know that London prices tend to be higher than what we will be used to so we are prepared to pay a little more than we normally would but don't want to pay stupid prices. Otherwise are there Weatherspoons/Lloyds in the area (I supppose these would be cheaper than the normal pubs)?
I used to work in an office quite close to Euston and this place was our regular Friday lunchtime venue: Bree Louise
Generally a decent selection of ales both via handpump and straight from the cask. The food is also quite good. Not particularly cheap - but few places in London are. Sam Smiths pubs and Wetherspoons are probably the cheapest generally but I'm not aware of any in the vicinity of Euston.
PS : I think they do a discount for CAMRA members if you happen to be one. Not sure how much since I'm not a member myself.

Saturdays the best day weatherwise too! I was trying to look for a Weatherspoons around Euston too, can't seem to find one.

Travel for hours to one of the greatest cities in the world and hunt down a Wetherspoons pub so you can get a pint 80p cheaper. Great plan.
Me: I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.
knockersbumpMKII: Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm

Oh so for an already expensive weekend (Hotel, travel, £76 tickets, Thorpe park tomorrow, meals and drinks all weekend) I should head for the most expensive pub and drink the same beer for twice the price- Great plan
Its a bloody CC final, not a beer festival, im hardly after the worlds finest beer.
Going to a pub were I will meet up with some old mates who are Wire fans and live in the area, and have suggested that pub sounds like I great plan to me. Especially one ive been to every time ive been to Wembley and one which always has a good atmosphere in there with plenty of supporters, its not just about the prices.
Greatest city??? Its one of the worst ive ever been to... travel for hours? Its only down the road, just over 2hrs if you catch the train. You can tell you have spent too long on this tiny island when you think London is travelling for hours.
Next you'll be criticising me for staying in a holiday inn, as they are everywhere to, albeit it is a crown plaza one

Find a Sammy Smiths for some good Yorkshire ale. There are plenty about and tend to be much, much cheaper than other pubs
