Bye Wigan, it's been emotional
Far bigger Premier league soccer club. what an absolute laugh Latics are losing money hand over fist and with a tight wad as chairman, who's just signed a 50 year lease with Wigan RLFC, apart from having the bo**ocks sued off him, they need the cash that Warriors generate.
just to put you straight, latics do not own the DW stadium, it is owned by a company called Whelco, of which both latics and the Warriors are tenants.
Also, if it ever did come to Wigan leaving the RL, it wouldn't just be Wigan you'd be waving too, it would be professional RL. Cos lets face it, go anywhere in this country and mention RL, the first name out of the hat is always the mighty Wigan, with an occasional Leeds and less occasional Saints. As for the rest, forget it.

What exactly have Wigan won in the last ten years? Absolutely FA!

Are you speaking from a future viewpoint, because you have just negated Leeds current remarkable "occasional" 3 in a row achievements.
The new young dynasty of super saints is coming to a ground near you. Welsby-Dodd-Simms-Eaves-Rizzelli, not Eastmond...the future is coming.

League leader and a challenge cup. Not a lot but it's a bit more than FA. Can't believe the amount of sh*t being posted on this. Wigan athletic are barely a premier league side. They'll go soon, if we were somehow 'forced out' then we would be going with a huge lump of cash.

When did they win the league ladder, I am sure I saw Hudds spoil the little party? Also, the CC was 9 years ago. Straws, clutching me thinks!

TBH and I could be wrong here but if the players wages in the PL continue as they are then that league is going to go bang in a major way anyway sooner or later (I would assume sooner). Its simple economics the more players get paid the more in dept clubs get or the more they charge for entry which means less people can afford the entry fees either way it can't continue. The PL just can't see it though. I mean how many daddy Warbucks are out there ffs.

Wigan can't be kicked out, if they were, they would get compo and sell Orrell. They'd be fine, Athletic would be stuffed. Good.
Most clubs have long leases on grounds and this ownership thing is a pointless arguement. Most new builds are build by private companies or councils and then leased back to sports clubs.
I'm more happy that the people who have to worry at the moment are whatever RU teams are in QPR, Reading and Watfords grounds because those football teams have mad, rich owners who I reckon could kick those lot out at the drop of a hat.
