But in saying that RL itself has to stop the talent leaving our game and give the players the wages that they deserve at least on par with their AFL and union counterparts.
I like all sports CJ. Obviously being an Aussie I've always had a soft spot for the Wallabies. I also own a NSW Waratahs jumper. I enjoy a bit of Union from time to time although I wouldnt really classify myself as an out and out Union fan.
As I originate from Sydney I also have a soft spot for the Sydney Swans AFL side... but I'm not a fan of AFL by any means. It's all about supporting your regional teams (as well as your national ones)
I would gain no pleasure in seeing the ARU or the AFL struggle as the result of the NRL's actions. The same way I would hate to see the NRL suffer as a result of the AFL or ARU.
Despite the opinions of some on these forums Rugby Union has no interest in seeing League get into strife. I swear some people see Union as a modern day pied piper coming to lure all the top NRL players away like the children of Hamelin.
Australia is a big country. Sport is a popular past time for many. There are enough good players playing NRL, ARU, AFL or whatever other sport you might be interested in.
All 3 sports will survive. Easily.
Fact.

its as bad as being a west coast eagles fan and talking down the nrl at every opportunity
we should leave nrl discussion to those that contribute to it
the rest should sit back and take notes
Quite right you should leave it those who can make a contribution?
Back to the topic Cooper would be a superb addition to the NRL - problem is it would at least 12 months for him to get to the speed of the game
Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

Cooper is class...and he will be both a big hit in League as well as a big loss to Union if he moves.....but I can assure you, if he does go, the ARU won't bat an eyelid....as bazza has already said, it is only on these boards (and this one in particular) that the code war still rages
I'm just going to ignore the troll from now on!
I think you are being a little harsh on Dally saying he does nothing but cut and paste from the SMH site though.
He also cuts and pastes from NRL.com, The Age and League Express
I seriously can't see the problem the self appointed guardians of the NRL flame have with there being other codes of Rugby!
We all clearly prefer League. Thats why we post here.
As I've said before... Union doesnt really care about League... and vice versa.

I'm not so sure Serge.
Cooper would adapt pretty quickly IMO.
Apart from him getting busted for breaking into someones house up on the Gold Coast.
He wasn't so quick then....

Just read one of the poor Ozzie rags which claims Cooper used to play league under another name such is his love of the game, this revelation convinced parra he's serious.

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

I think he played jnrs up to 16 or something. Reality is NRL has never shown any interest (or in reality had the cash) to raid other sports to get the upper hand. That won't change any time soon. Personally I have no time for RU (the only sport i can honestly say i dislike!) so anything the NRL did to damage them would get my support. Again it will never happen though as you would get all the other clubs b1tch1ing about how unfair it is Parra got a leg up from the NRL. Unlike other codes were the good of the game comes before the good of the club, RL is still dominated by club chairmen and with a weak NRL leadership they are no position to change that. Maybe the IC will, maybe not.
WEST COAST PIRATES NRL expansion? Sometime soon, maybe......

As someone who ran to the mods to whine about me giving you a hard time by generalising what you post, this is a tad rich. You do nothing but cut and paste You do not accept anyone can follow more than one sport you bring nothing to these boards (I have re-read at least 100 threads you have started with less than 3 more posts by other people) You try to dictate your agenda as being the LAW.......get over yourself. I am not defending bazza.....but at least he's entertaining....you're just a mouthpiece and as that title goes, a pretty boring one as well. Cooper will be a good catch if he crosses over......nuff said!

Parramatta has one of the best junior set ups in the NRL, yet we haven't had or been able to keep a single decent halfback since sterlo retired?
There's the damn problem.
Parra have let so many kids slip through their fingers that end up biting them on the bum later on.
Parra found Lockyer first, didn't get him, YowYee at the Broncos was cut because someone said he wouldn't make first grade.
We've now let one of the Keating boys head to the dogs, Mateo to the Warriors, Gallen to the sharks.
Blah blah blah.
Time I think Parramatta looked at who is responsible for identifying the talent in the junior ranks, cause obviously the person doing it has SFA knowledge of up n coming players.

850,000 bucks for an untried player, FMD.
and my team Manly would like to thank Parra for some of them. Got anymore?
