they won't knock back the bears or the reds.

these other teams will come later.

But that's a lot of traffic playing wise from Suncorp isn't it?
Broncos 1 week
West Brisbane RL the next week
Qld Reds RU
Brisbane Roar during some of the season and off season

plus
SoO
Test matches for league and union
and not to mention the Socceroos will probably play there in the future

Until this season when the turf supplier changed, Etihad handled game after game just fine. As does the 'G even now. And that's without the benefit of Brisbane sun in winter.

Suncorp will stand it - and be a better use of public monies by being tenanted more often...

I can see tge Bears getting shafted again if Gallop decides he likes the idea of another Q'land team, have to feel sorry for the Bears team if this happens as they have done everything possible to put together a good bid. Having said that I can see that a Brisbane 2 is probably more valsuable in the long termthan another NSW team. Mind you SOO would be dead in the water with another team of players for Q'land to pick from!

If the Ipswich bid is well constructed it will be Reds and Jets as I am sure the NRL would prefer a second Brisbane team over an 11th NSW team, just like the Titans bid which was weaker than the CC Bears bid but was given another year to improve.

spot on.

i think gallop will tell ipswich to wait given weve only just added the titans in and hell want them to settle in more.

itll be bears and reds next time, im 99.9% confident on that

I think because of the GWS threat the Bears will get in shores up the Bears old territory and the Central Coast. The Bears bid atm actually reminds me of the Titans bid where most people actually can see them as favourites for expansion.

So in all
2013
CC Bears and W A Reds (these two have ready built stadiums already and the CC have 2200 members already)

2017
West Brisbane (I associate Jets with Newtown) personally I like Wolves
North Brisbane Dolphins

if we added 2 brisbane teams id be over the moon, that would give the game a massive boost, especially tv ratings in brisbane.

that idea of north brisbane looks great if it can take in the sunshine coast.

it shows what a great future we have with all these expansion places.

we can easily handle 20 or even 22 teams, and thats not counting PNG or wellington

It will be one of Reds & Bears/Ipswich in 2013. Will be interesting as I still feel the NRL want to hold Gosford open for a busted Sydney team to relocate but Ipswich bid is a long way behind the Bears as of now.

I want to see the NRL work with the NZRL to develop a Wellington bid for next time. The potential in NZ and especially a team playing 9 in Wellington and 3 in Christchurch is immense.

PNG to be admitted to Q'land cup

Manly to play 3 games plus have a Q'land cup link up again with CQ

Sharks to be encouraged to "adopt" Adelaide

NQ to be encouraged to adopt Darwin

It has to be either Papua New Guinea or Perth.

PNG is a pipe dream

2013 Reds and Bears
2018 Jets and Orcas
Southern Sharks playing 6 games in Cronulla 6 in Adelaide

Just about gives the ideal NRL for the next 30 years

Rooster Booster wrote:That wouldn't be the case. 2 reasons they wouldn't get a spot.

1. Independent Commission and existing teams vote "no" to more expansion teams in 2013.

2. Bears don't get a spot as they're too close too Sydney and cannot proves they'll survive there.

It would have nothing to do with QLD.

I went to see the Bears play in the NSW cup against Balmain yesterday, they got battered, sloppy play, poor discipline, and there was only about 300 people there (I know it clashed with Eels vs Tigers, but it reminded me of going up to London Skolars).
