RR see my earlier post (though it all sounds a bit like Forlan and he came good with a couple of goals if I remember rightly )
Would rather the ~£7mn went towards a central midfielder given that we're likely to lose Giggs, Scholes, Hargreaves (retiring) and Anderson (think Fergie's patience will have gone with him after his escapade in Portugal) FWIW I hope Hargreaves doesn't have to retire because he's the best England midfielder we've not produced (maybe why he's the best!) but it doesn't look great for him making any sort of worthwhile comeback

Who makes these decisions on how much a player should cost? I just read that he'd only just joined his club, and that United had signed him based on his pre-season form. With all due respect, he could turn out to be a good player, but £7m for a player with that CV, who was available on a free only months ago? Some are saying 'well people said the same when we spent a lot on Ronaldo', but Ronaldo was one of the world's hottest talents back then, whilst this fella seems a nobody, with his only background being homeless football and pre-season friendlies, from the sounds of things.
I'd rather we had signed a midfielder but I trust Fergie to get it right, he usually does. Also we don't even know the fee Utd paid plus if he was a nobody then why were both Utd and Madrid both chasing him? I have seen nothing of him and we are slightly top heavy on forwards but of the 6 we have at the club three are youngsters and three are experienced players so I am fairly happy with that.
Did anyone else feel Rooney's wave to the crowd whilst getting subbed (and rightly booed) was sarcastic? If so IMO it's yet another reason why the to$$er should not play for England. Along with refusing to sing the national anthem, been dirty, and an extremely poor role model, he's a disgrace to the England shirt IMO.
Why should he have to sing the national anthem?
God save the Queen? No thanks, its what the mute button on the TV was made for.

My thoughs exactly. It's his whole attitude and way he plays the game that I can't stand.

Couldn't play any worse then he is so must be worth a short.
Despite what MU fans say about him he will never compare IMO to the likes of Shearer, Sheringham and Ferdinand (and that's just to name a few, there's countless more).

When they give us an English national anthem I'll be bothered.
