As negative as this could be for development e.g overseas players taking places that could be filled by young British players (albeit not as ably) is it not also a considerable positive to have players like Galea and Mason over here working alongside the developing youngsters?
If I was a young prop there are few people I would rather train alongside than Willy Mason.

What confuses me about the Mason thing is that, whatever passport he's got, he isn't fed-trained and hasn't been here to get a dispensation. Even the retrospectively applied 'here for 2008' exemptions, when combined with the right passport can be seen as a loophole - this would be a loopabyss and the rules would disappear into it never to be seen again IMO.
