I think Radford gets a bit of a raw deal for being a consistent but not spectacular performer for FC, If he was at Bradford or Leeds we'd probably be ok if he came our way. Personally (Taking the FC element out of it) I wouldnt really want him at KR more to do with his age and the point he is at in his career, would be probably better than Wheeldon has been but would also cost more. Still think its a massive red herring but no doubt time will tell.

just looked on the sl website stats and compared them to our props. Less errors than most of them, less missed tackles than any of them, only lovegrove with more tackles although lovegrove missed 78 tackles to radders 15, metres wise he's up there with clinton and vella (although has made a fair few more carries). basically he gets through a lot of unappreciated graft. does the spade work which no one sees or appreciates at Hull. Never gonna pluck up trees and hit the headlines but definately a workmanlike grafting forward whcih all sides need imo. Certainly far better than wheeldon and netherton, though would assume he would be on a higher wage
That said, not sure whether i'd want him at rovers for reasons mentioned earlier in the thread, age, stage of career, wages.
I think anyone who is saying anything along the lines of Radford being an uninspiring signing knows very little about Rugby League. OK some people may have issues about his age but he has won everything in the british game and we could do with someone of his experience. He's a very under rated player due to the fact that although he'll never do anything fancy or break the line but will graft hard for the team and come up with a phenomenal amount of tackles. He's a battle hardened warrior and woukd work well with Clinton,Vella, Newton and co.

Why are we even discussing this as an option, Someone above has said Lee's dad said its bull, and even Lee himself as mentioned to people that its a load of tripe so why on earth are people looking at it as an option for Wheeldon/Nev?

its called covering your bases. If the unthinkable happens and we sign him then we can hide behind all the semi decent things we've said about whilst always leaving the options open for us to slag FC off if they keep him by saying he's past his best and expensive.

He's rubbish and finished, would cost far too much and would spend more time on the treatment table than Madam Kenco spends on here. No better than what we've got.
He's a decent hard grafting forward who seems to have a great attitude and would no doubt help to bring the youngsters along, you don't play with all the quality players he has and got the medals in your cabinet without picking up a thing or two along the way.

Hmm, doesn't really work in the same post. Too efficient me.
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Whilst he would spend more time on the treatment table than Madam Kenco spends on here he could be mentoring the younger elements of our squad. maybe no better than what we've got, but could be a useful addition to our props.
