Yep, he can't be as finished as some are making out or FC would be in there.

What does it tell us though?
Wigan - Must be nears to spending on the cap, and can't accomodate another aus
Warrington - Similar to Wigan, they have so many "big" players, reckon they are nearly at cap
Hull - Quota restrictions stop Hull
Saints
Leeds
Crusaders - Would have thought they had enough aussies by now lol
Salford - Interested. Looking to strengthen their team well, look at Patten, only Salford and hudds were after him but he is awesome.
Rovers - Interested. Have room on the quota, and will have space on the cap after cooke's wages/walker's imminent departure/Mills wages/Wheeldon's wages no longer need paying
Wakefield - Doubt they could afford him
Huddersfield - Reckon they're all spent out, probably have a full back in mind too
Bradford - Interested. How they could afford his wages though with Orford/Le'strange/Kearney is a mystery
Harlequins - Doubt they could afford him.
Catalans - Can't comment on their quota stuff cos I don't get how theirs works.
Castleford - Potentially at full quota, and possibly couldn't afford him.

Apart from leeds and saints, there are valid, sensible reasons why other clubs aren't interested in him. And regarding leeds and saints, he's possibly not good enough for their sides now, but would certainly add something to rovers.

I would be amazed if this happens. Willie Mason’s agent has done this when his player was seeking a new contract or extension on a few occasions now. He just claims his player his available, gets all the SL clubs to publically declare interest and then the next minute, his client gets a contract at an NRL club on an improved deal to what he was originally expecting to get. They all do this. The fact Hull KR keep publically declaring interest in players over there just makes them look desperate to sign anyone. That itself could jeopardise any future ‘realistic’ targets from signing.

Were as i see it as; it looks like there trying to improve there team and progress up the league and that would make me interested in playing for them.

Lets be honest the players we've declared interest in havent been poor players.

What you see and desperate i see as progress. Mason or Fielden, hmmmmmmm hard choice.

I'd take Fielden everyday of the week and twice on a Sunday. Though both are clearly past their best Fielden remains a technically better prop than Mason with a better workrate and a bigger engine and comes without baggage. He would also likely come a little cheaper.

Mason will possibly put bums on seats but i doubt he'll improve Rovers overall on field profile that much, if at all.

Motto of the week -

It is the way of the weak to secretly bleat to those in authority rather than fight their own battles.

The one thing we are missing up front and have been for the last 2 seasons is a big nasty twit whos going to come off the bench and run over people - Fielden isnt that player and Mason is.
