Liverpool fans, dontcha just love them.

Gerrard has been gash for 2 seasons now and the ladyboy was annonymous for the entire 2009/2010 season. if you really think they are suddenly going to recapture their best form under a mid table manager coupled with the arival of someone who does 25 step overs and then gives the ball away before getting injured, you are clearly mistaken.

As for the rest of the "spine", they would struggle to get in most of last seasons top half premiership clubs.

Joe Cole looked fairly decent to me when he settled the Premier League title race last season.

Nothing I 'don't like about him' he's a decent defender but hardly someone I would single out as top quality. The best thing going for Joe Cole was that he got limited opportunity at the World Cup and thus came home with a better reputation through not playing than he would have if he had played!

Just because he can play both positions doesn't mean he's any good there. Emile Heskey went the World Cup, England do pick poop, that means nothing. I bet two weeks ago you wouldn't have been so happy with a signing of Luke Young's calibre.

Sthelens RLFC wrote:I'd rather have him than Tony Hibbert. Or Gary Neville. Or Paulo Ferreira.

I wouldn't & I think if you take your tinted specs off you wouldn't either.

Sthelens RLFC wrote:But yeah, it's hilarious.

It is, he's a shocking signing and it just shows how you're falling further behind the top 4/5.

You'd better tell the Football writers association about that. Gerrard won their player of the year in 2008/2009. So I'd imagine he wasn't gash. In fact,I'd say other than the ludicrous awards Giggs won that year, Gerrard would have cleaned up. Regardless, you've made yourself look daft by calling him gash.

Torres was anonymous last year. Well, when he was injured he was. Other than that he scored 22 goals in 32 games. I don't know how he managed to get by being so anonymous with such a great record.

So Agger and Cole wouldn't get in at Aston Villa, Blackburn, Birmingham, Everton, Tottenham or City?

Heitinga, Dunne, Bassong, Ridgewell, Collins and Samba couldn't lace Agger's boots
I could name 20 midfielders from these clubs who couldn't lace Cole's boots, but I don't want to make you look stupider than you obviously are.

He's better than Insua and Degen and therefore he is an improvement on what we have. Christ, he'll be luckyto get a game if everyone is fit but what are we supposed to do with limited funds? Sign two left backs at £10million each when we have other areas that need strengthening? Of what is available I'd take him. BTW, the cheeky c*nt is holding out for more money sowe probably won't even sign him!

Dan_FC wrote: I wouldn't & I think if you take your tinted specs off you wouldn't either.

Neville is finished, Hibbert never got started (don't tell me that Everton fans like him,I know for a fact the majority despair when he plays) and Ferreira is possibly the most overrated full back I've ever seen. For £2million I'd take Luke Young over the £14 million it cost for Ferriera

Dan_FC wrote:It is, he's a shocking signing and it just shows how you're falling further behind the top 4/5.

I'm quite willing to be proved wrong, hence my offer of having a bet with anyone who is convinced about how poop we are.

Surely you haven't been relying on just three players.
So Cole is going to take you from 7th to top 4? Good luck

Ha, possibly true about Cole but a fresh start in his favourite position genuinely excites me. Again, I'm willing to be proven wrong.

On Agger, I bet Torres doesn't make him wear a dog leash at training like he does to Vidic every time we play United.

You've clearly made yourself look like a tit too 'cos Heitinga hasn't been playing centre half for us he's been playing DM.

But we'll play your game anyway, no Agger wouldn't dislodge Heitinga or Jagielka from the centre of defense. Your spine isn't as wonderful as you make it out to be, on lasy year's showing Gerrard was gash and a bit more of the same will do nicely.

Tim Howard or Reina I'd happily take either both very good goalkeepers

Jags or Heitinga over Agger all day

On last years showing I'd rather have Arteta, Fellaini or Cahill over Gerrard, all had much much better seasons.

Torres I'll give you but he would walk into most if not all PL teams.

Torres out for 50% of season yet still managed to play 32 times?
