But yet you seem taken in by Redknapp chatting his usual rubbish by saying Cole wanted to join Spurs!

From Football365. I don't follow much transfer speculation, but I remember this from Twitcher:

Beyond death, taxes and England being a constant crushing disappointment, there are a couple of things you can be sure of this summer.

One is the remarkable speed at which the transfer market operates, and the other is Harry Redknapp's insistence that when a Spurs transfer goes wrong, it ain't his fault, guv.

Both of those things were clear in his reaction to Joe Cole's decision to move to Liverpool, rather than Tottenham.

"I spoke to him a month ago and I thought he was coming here," top-topped 'Arry on Thursday.

"He wanted to come to Tottenham. He had made his mind up - I had no doubt about that."

Weird. We distinctly remember 'Arry saying in June that Spurs had no chance of bagging the boy.

Oh - that's right - he did, telling BBC Radio 5Live: "It looks to me someone's going to make a great free transfer, if he doesn't stay at Chelsea.

"I genuinely don't know who that is. I don't think it's going to be Tottenham."

Tottenham in "nearly signing a player" shocker!!! They'll never change, the sad, deluded fools. Hopefully Redknap will get the Citeh job when Mancini fails and Redknapp and Cook can be the world's funniest comedy duo.

Modern football must drive you crazy then if you can't accept players' doing what is in their best interest when deals are being made.

I'd say for the majority it's the agents doing what's best for themselves and the player they represent rather than the actual player.

Not really. I gave up following football seriously years ago.

I've grown to accept it, it's the way of sports and Spurs can offer 'more' in terms of football than us, so I can't blame him for looking at other clubs. Who's to say we'd made an offer for Cole by then, or we'd properly negotiated with him? If Spurs were the best available (in Cole's view) then, then he would obviously be interested in going there.

Pretty much every player in football that receives multiple offers will be close to going to one club or the other, it's the nature of the sport now and getting upset over it is pretty sad.

Chuffed that it looks as though Vidic is on the verge of signing a new contract. :)

Wonder if this will catch on?

Could imagine some of the Premiership posers trying it and ending up on their backsides.

I've only seen the video that's posted on here via the link and the 'keeper runs off towards the linesman complaining, fook knows why he would be?
