Its a good move for webbo, he lives in Hull so its convenient, travelling to Widnes must have been a pain. I think he'll be Agars assistant as long as Agars in charge, which will be a minimum of another year. They wont sack him regardless of what the fans want as if you just look at facts and not performances he's got them to 4th and unless theres a run of the strangest kind they're nailled on for the play offs. After last years 12th I'd expect his objective for this year was just that.

FC also have a track record of promoting from within so he may get his shout once Agar moves on, if not he'll have a decent line on his cv as an SL assistant.

Webbo proved he has what it takes to be a good coach, whether he can be a Super League coach is another matter but one I'm sure he'd be willing to take on.

So why is Agar a Moron? I thought he'd had two years of injuries and now he's got you to 4th in the league??

The team has shown an improvement this year without doubt, but too many baffling decisions and players playing in the wrong positions. Agar had a lot to prove for me, but he hasn't. I hope I am wrong, sincerely, but I don't think I am.

I saw the Horne at hooker, Berrigan in the halves palarva however there must have been a good reason for this. Maybe Berro's kicking game is better than Hornes (which isn't hard) and so it was a good option to give him time from a half back position to put these kicks in??

I just dont know what Agar now has to do to prove himself to you lot, he's had a terrible couple of seasons where IMO he should've walked but was given the benefit of the doubt, he signed some top players, although they were mostly on a downward turn from their best days, and he also signed a couple of up and coming youngsters like Tansey and Turner who will prove to be vital players in your future. He's won 6 out of 8 games in this past two months and yet just because he loses a game at Wakey who were desperate to redeem themselves after the week before along with Hull's key players missing again and you all again want him sacking!!!!

Now if Rovers do smash Hull tomorrow I do dread to think of the comments about Agar on Radio afterwards!!! Hope he doesnt cry himself to sleep!!!!

I think for most Hull fans it's the frustration that our off the pitch credentials (fanbase, stadium, business model, community programme etc) does not translate itself to the performances on the pitch. It's not about scrimping on player salaries as we are at full cap. We're in 4th now, but doubt we'll finish above 6th as we still have the derby, Wigan, Warrington and Leeds to play, so a difficult run in. Of course 6th would be better than 12th, but it's well short of what a club our our size should be achieving, and there's no prospect of that changing until 2012 as essentially we've got the same squad next year. If the club had some ambition they'd be targetting a top Aussie coach (we've got the financial picture sorted to allow this) and make major changes for 2012. What will actually happen is we'll keep Agar and keep underachieving. If we had poor gates and were on the rack financially, it would be different, but it's the failure to fulfil potential that's the disappointment.

So basically, its unrealistic targets set by the fans that is the root cause of Agar's failings?

The result at Wakefield hurt so much because of the mauling we gave them the week earlier. The plain truth is, that many Hull fans look at the relative fan bases of the 2 clubs in this city, and translate this into on-field performance expectations (anything Rovers can do, we can do better). In the modern era of the salary cap, this will never happen. Wigan have consistently had significantly larger crowds than Saints, but the trophy cabinets would suggest this bears no resemblance to where it really matters, i.e. on the pitch.

Very True.

It also boils down to what a club will spend on coaching staff and the youth set up, neither are on the cap but are of equal importance.

Definitely. An inflated sense of self importance, you might say.
