Were all these people foaming at the mouth because the Germans caught us with a couple of sucker punches in the 2nd half actually watching the game? It should have been 2-2 at half time, and we dominated the 3rd quarter of the game as well. It was only in our all too hasty pursuit of an equiliser that caused us to over commit and get caught on the break. Once the 3rd went in you push on even harder and are even easier to get caught on the break. Their keeper made 2 world class saves, we hit the woodwork once and scored a perfectly legitimate goal that was disallowed.
I'm not saying we deserved to win but as Mugwump says the amount of criticism the players are getting is frightening.

Temptation, greets you like your naughty mate,
The one that used to get you in bother,
But one that you could never bring yourself to hate.

All four goals were a result of players going AWOL from their positions to a suicidal extent....that's my main crticism.

The other is that James really needs to look at his technique.
He dithered on the first goal and the second he had it blocked off, but didn't stand his ground and dived for an imaginary shot to his right, spread his legs and bingo....the ball went straight through them from a silly angle. He had little chance with the German second half goals...but the damage was already done. But when you consider what his defence exposed him to....I shouldn't blame him.

War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

Thank God I'm an atheist.

Most of them backwards, when he did try making a meaningful pass he gave it away, he was truly awful.

How have our under 17s and under 21s performed in recent world/euro tournaments? I know one of them got to the final of summat but got whammed by the Germans...is the failure of the younger squads not an indication of the senior squads failures to come or not?

I speak as someone who doesn't watch these younger-age tournaments so it is a genuine question.

Our u17's recently became euro champions beating Spain I believe.
The u21's lost the last euro final to the Germans (quite a few of them are now in the full national side)

How far do you go back? RL has a nice break in play at the last tackle prior to the goal, football doesn't have that. What if there is a foul 1 minute prior to the goal but the ball has not been out of play since then, do you go back that far? 2 minutes? 30 seconds? What limit do you put on it?

But your idea isn't oh enlightened one?

Oh the irony indeed.

Quote:but come the day, you and your ilk will be reminded big time of your folly. I don't think it will be too long, but carry on with your head in the sand if it suits.
Let's have more injustice...because we have to take the rough with the smooth....don't we???
But as long as people hang on to the every little thing nonsense.....it will be hard....the very same 'every little things' that are somehow not a problem now and can be ignored, but would be some sort of an embarrassment when looked at on a picture.
These 'every little things' are actually a handful of things.
AND we aren't inventing anymore that don't exist already....so nothing is changing...it's just a bloody diversion.

What the fscking hell are you going on about?

Here's a question to ponder:

How many World Cups would a BRITISH - rather than English - team have won?

We'd have certainly not had to worry about having a left winger for the last 20 years

England never dominated more than 5 minutes against Germany. The criticism the players are getting is warranted because they were not interested one bit apart from scoring and after that they disappeared. That is the worst England team I have ever seen. I'd love to know how you reckon England dominated parts of the game ?
